How do you make the most out of your day at Castaway Cay?

I maximize my day by going ashore after everybody else does, doing a quick review of the souvenir stand with a Konk Kooler in hand, then going back to the boat to enjoy the fact that everybody else is rolling around in the sand or riding bicycles. It's like having my very own private resort.

I always get a bike and go all the way to the end of the road past Serenity Bay. IMHO, that is the most beautiful and peaceful place on the island. The beach is not open for swimming, but the view is incredible and it's "serenity" in spades.

The road on the way:

Bikes are plentiful! I would get off right when you can at 8:30 am, stake out a spot, maybe get a hammock. Then do the bike riding because as the day goes on, it gets HOT. Come back, hit the beach for a bit, Pelican Plunge if you are into that, get lunch, then maybe rent a boat at the boat beach.
This might not be a popular opinion, but please don't stake out a hammock for the day. There are only a few available and it can be very irritating when someone piles their stuff on a hammock and then leaves for hours. It's nice to leave them available for people to swing in for a little while - just my opinion.

Could not like this comment more! Also, I think yours is the popular opinion. People who stakeout any of the public area amenities and keep them all day, without actually using them all day, are inconsiderate.

Yep. Castaway Cay day is all about relaxing. If the grand kids are cruising with us, we watch them play in the sand. If not, DH and I have lunch on the island then head back to the air conditioned ship.
