How Do You Let Your Server Know That Part of Your Party Will Be Out of Pocket and Others DDP?

I've planned out our meals and decided that the best use of our credits is for a few of our meals to pay out of pocket kids meals for my 10 year son (he eats very little).

We are a party of 4, 2 adult credits, 1 kids credit and 1 kid OOP.

How should we let our server know? Should I ask for 1 of the kids meals to be put on a separate check?

Thanks!

They will ask if you're on the dining plan as you're seated or when you're ready to order. Just tell them that all but one child is and you'd like to pay OOP for his meal. It'll be easy. If they don't ask, just tell them you're paying with DDP for these 3 and OOP for this one.

@sharonabe is correct, it is easy. You just tell the server what is OOP and what is DDP. They can take to from there. We are doing this in December. We have more TS meals booked then we have credits for, and between sharing a few meals on days when we are not all hungry for an entire entree and dessert, and paying OOP when one of our crew orders a turkey sandwich, we figure we can manage OOP spending.

I did this with no problems last week. Two of our party of 5 were not on the dining plan. Also, on various nights I only used some of my credits for the 3 of us that were on the plan. It was really easy. I would get two different receipts at the end of the meal.

When the server greets you, tell them how you would like to pay. You can let the kids share a meal, or share off your plate... just ask for a extra plate.
