My Dsis is bringing my 4 month old neice....we are wondering how to keep here out of the sun....since she can't wear sunblock???

We get sunburned just walking around and standing in lines...so we will be sure she is shaded as much as possible...but her little legs will stick out more than the shade of her stroller and what about when she is in the bjorn thingy???
We know we could use a blanket on her stroller while sleeping but when she is awake she likes to see out...still blanket for shade. also its in the 80-90's right now so long pants/shirst will be so hot, we have many hats....but need other ideas and tips;)
what do you guys do to keep them cool and covered and no sunburns???

At my DD's 4 month check a few weeks ago, I asked the ped about sunblock. He said it was ok to use, but that they really recommend it not be the only means of sun protection we use. So I'd suggest getting input from a ped on the sunblock issue.

In addition, I recently purchased a ring sling made of solarveil fabric, which has some built-in spf. My plan is to use sunblock, plus when she's in the sling and a sun hat she's almost completely covered. When we have her in the stroller, we can use the sling as a drape to block the sun - it's fairly light and breathable. We're hoping this will get us through our trip this month.

Talk to her ped. about Aveeno Baby Sunscreen - we used it on my son last year when he was 5 months old and he didn't burn at all and it didn't bother his skin at all.

I also clipped a fan onto his stroller to keep a breeze going to cool him down.

I told my Sis about the Aveeno baby sunscreen...she already uses their baby bath products....my Dniece will actually be almost 5 mons next week when we go...My Sis is going to call her Ped Monday...thanks

I will look at the solarveil stuff too, thx !:goodvibes

I would also think about using some very lightweight loose white pants. They will reflect the light and provide some extra protection.

I'd buy an umbrella that clips on your stroller or the extended sun shade for the stroller-so that baby is cover more.

An umbrella can shade you in sunny lines and while waiting for shows to begin.

A hat and sunscreen are a must even at that age! don't forget tops of feet.

If you have a fabric store nearby, there is a mesh netting that also has a SPF effect to it. It is cool to wrap over the baby when in the carrier.

(You can even find slings made in the material if you babywear!)
