How do you keep track of which images you posted?

As per the title, particularly those of you who post regularly: do you have a way of keeping note of what image was posted in what thread? I sometimes find myself scanning through a thread for ages before I post because I can never remember if I have posted the one I have in mind there, or elsewhere (or anywhere at all)

I use to try and remember but now I can't even remember why I try. Like this will ever happen.

I always have a problem with this, particularly when I have several photos in a series that I want to post over a few days. I usually have to page back through and look at my posts.

2Tiggies Honestly I don't think about it any more, I know and I'm sure I'm of doing it but I can always use my age as an excuse.
Besides most of us here like looking at the pictures so much we really don't care how many times we see them.
So I would say:
Don't Worry, Be Happy.

For awhile I started adding in Keywords via Lightroom that let me track which I posted to where (e.g. "Disboards - Canon Thread" or "Disboards - Fireworks"). It seemed to work pretty well, and the added bonus that those posted images were relatively easy to find if they existing on smug as well.

However, I haven't done that with my recent batch and probably should (not that I've posted much from that anyway, haven't had the time to come back quite yet).

I use SmugMug and my OCD solution has been to add the thread name in the caption for each picture that I post. I also really like the keyword feature for SmugMug.

I used to add borders to anything I posted here using Photobucket... since I stopped adding orders its become a wee bit more difficult!

but if you use photobucket or a webhost like that you can make different albums or folders which you can put all the pictures you have posted already in there so you can see which ones you have already done thats what i do

Well I started this thread and then completely forgot about it ..... little wonder I have to check which photos I posted .....

Thanks all. I wasn't sure if it was bad form to repost things on the same thread as I am sure I may have done so already at some point. I shall just try remember as best I can, post and enjoy everyone's pics

Honestly, if a duplicate slips through, we'll try not to give you too much grief.

I mostly rely on memory. But I also try to post them here as I edit them. If I ever want to go back to one I edited previously, I sometimes do a check for the name or number title of the photo. Since Flickr actually lists the name, it should come up in a search of a given thread. I usually only post to a couple different threads, so it's not that hard.
