How do you keep the Magic alive?

Since having a new DD, we aren't planning a trip to WDW until 2008. We were lucky enough to make 3 trips before DD's arrival, 04/04 for our honeymoon, 12/04 for Christmas and 10/05 for Halloween. We actually found out we were expecting the day we returned from our Halloween trip!

DH is having serious WDW withdrawals! Knowing we can't make another trip for a while is killing him! What things do you do to keep the magic alive between trips? Thanks for any tips!

I would start planning my 2008 trip now. Remember that you can make your reservations up to 500 days in advance. Before you know it, 2008 will be here. Then I would take that beautiful baby shopping at the Disney Store and buy her all the cute outfits, toys and books that I could afford!!! (But don't forget to save some money for your trip!)

Here's wishing your little princess: lots of pixiedust:

I am going through the same thing. My DD was born 3/24/06 and my last trip was October 05. We are still debating when is too soon to take her! A few ways that I keep the magic alive are to go to the Disney store A LOT! I also have several CD's with music from the parks and other Disney soundtracks that we listen to in the car. And of course the disboards and allearsnet! Isn't it exciting to think of introducing your little one to Disney when the time comes!!!

Have you seen the thread on here (Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies board) where you can download every piece of music from WDW - from parks to attractions to shows to resorts? It's absolutley incredible - try playing some of that every now & then. When I play the AK park music it takes me right back there. VERY soothing music - might work to calm your DD if she's having a fussy moment! We love to look at our picture albums a lot too - why not scrapbook them if you haven't already. I also went on eBay & found some Disney books - the Walt Disney biograpy & a really neat one called "Since The World Began" - it's at least 10 years old but has great pictures & lots of detailed info on MK, Epcot & MGM, as well as water parks & resorts. I got it dirt cheap on eBay & pull it out to read every now & then.

Scrap booking, my wife an I will journal our vacations this way, using Creative Memories scrap booking supplies, (by far the best) they have lots of Disney stuff to work with, its fun to pick up the albums and look at them from time to time.

These boards help also. MP

I agree with downloading the park audio. Spectromagic does it for our entire family. We play it in the car and all just smile.

Planning videos are nice, free ways to get some views of the park. Cook some disney foods from your favorite restaurants.

Disney on Ice would also be fun.

BTW, that photo of your little one in the tinkerbell outfit is VERY cute.

I come here. It helps me unwind a bit.

I look at the pictures & say "hey I know where that was taken".

I look at the food/drink pictures & my mouth salvates knowing I will be back.

Since getting married in 2000 & finding out I was pregnant 3 months later, my trips have since been cut back or I think they have.

We went in 2002 with older dd who was 15 mo & then we went last year with dd & ds (4 & 22 mo at the time). I found out I was pregnant (oops) with our third about 3 weeks before we left & I wanted a lava flow (not sure the exact name) from the Poly but I couldn't but I did have a sip from DH's.

And now we had our third in March of this year & I can not even fathom taking her as an infant-I get too stressed out when it is feeding time & I like my kids to have lots of floor time when they are babies so being couped up in the bjorn or stroller for a week is too stressful for me to put my kid thru.

After our 2005 trip I wasn't planning a trip for a few years but I know it will be in 2008 since our youngest dd will be under 3 still.

So I can wait because I know if I go too much I'd not enjoy it as much.

I already know I am staying at the Dolphin since they sleep 5 with my RN rate & then the Poly so we can stay longer but now I am thinking of staying a night or two at the BC at the beginning so we can use DME.

So basically my plans are made, I just have to book them & figure out when.

We recently finished our basement...turned it into a Disney family room with a Nemo 1/2 bath. It is all Disney....everything from the doors, coffeetable, to the couch pillows. (DH also turned it into a home theatre with a 50 inch or so flat screen tv on the wall).
