Short of having a Toy hauler, how do you get all your stuff to the fort? Or any other campground for that matter? Right now we're trying to figure out how to transport the camper, bikes (DH made a brilliant bike rack for the truck), canoe, coolers, suitcases....oh and US, too!

Yesterday I saw someone had a conoe strapped to the top of there PUP. I guess that would work, but I'm worried it would be too heavy. Some of you then take golf carts, too! How do you do it??????

We make the kids walk and strap bundles to their backs!

Allright, allright! What does a girl need to do to be taken seriously around here! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

If we could plan our trips at the same time since my kids are walking they would happily ride your bikes down.:lmao:

Since we live so close, we bring the motorhome and then my jeep with the golf cart on a trailer behind. When we go on long trips, we just put the jeep behind the motorhome. We stuff what we need in the jeep then. Bikes go on a rack on the ladder.

We tow an '07 Saturn Ion behind the Motorhome. For the bikes, one of them goes in the car and the other three go on one of these that we just got:

That thing is very solid with the bikes loaded on it.

That looks like our rack. Only we can't use it when we pull the PUp because the hitch is already spoken for.

So, it looks like what you all are saying is we need to get a bigger rig or move closer to FW, right?

Amanda, your kids would probably enjoy the bikes! Sure beats walking the whole way!

:lmao:

Looks like that rack attaches to the hitch between the ball and the reciever. Short version is it is designed to be used on a hitch that is being used to pull something else so it may be useful for you.We had a rack built to the back of the 5er for the golf cart

You can actually buy these in all sizes to put on the back of a trailer. Golf carts can affect the hitch weight but, you could put alot of other stuff that would not have a significant difference. Of course you would have the additional expense of a receiver on the camper but, in the long run it could be benificial.

Well, since my CCC (cargo carrying capacity) is insanely low on the T@B, I do the following. (We only have two adults to haul). The EZ-Ups, chairs, rugs, small grill, extra propane tank, fishing stuff, and hubby's ECV goes in the back of the truck. The cooler, microwave, laptop, overnight hotel stop bag, and snack bag goes on the folded down back seat of the truck, and the bicycle gets hauled on the following:

I just have a van and a cargo carrier for the roof.

Every year, I evaluate my camping gear. Did I use it last year? Do I need it in case of emergency or downpour? Each year, some things go, some things get added.

Yesterday the DW and I were walking around Walmart and I was talking about condensing again for this year. I may try some of the Sterlite 3 drawer units to help organize.

When the weather gets abit nicer I'll start hauling the gear out to review.

We solved it by seasonal camping:laughing: . I know..no help to you either, sorry. When we were towing we did add a hitch to the back of the travel trailer so that we could bring our four bikes.:thumbsup2
Last three seasons we've been able to leave our bikes on site, along with the canoe, and the golf cart. So basically we have one big trip bringing everything up in the spring(actually May 1st) and then back again in the fall.

How do we haul it all.... well we upgraded from a 30' TT with no slides to a 34' TT with 2 slides and about a million more cupboards. We went from a exteded cab f-250 to a crew cab f-250 to a crew cab f-350 duallie with a huge tool box... Thought we had enough room to take anything we wanted.... but when we got there we could have bought a golf cart from property control, but couldn't fit it in truck to come home. LOL, next stop Kenworth with 52' toy hauler... LOL

We have the bike rack on top of our pup. All our clothes go into plastic tubs. Coolers go into the van. We also go through it every year and pull out the stuff we don't use. We always seem to add, but I think we do get rid of alot of stuff we really don't need to have in there.

Oh! I didn't even notice the bottom of it! Our bike rack is nothing like that. That's good info.

Groovy.

Thanks, everybody! I have some ideas now!
