How do you get past the card soldiers in Kingdom Hearts Recoded for the Nintendo DS?

I am playing Kingdom Hearts Recoded for the Nintendo DS and I am currently am trying to get to the next portal in the Wonderland world of the game but each time I try to get to it the card soldiers block me and I have to start over again. I have found more inklings and need to find more. Is there a secret to getting past the card soldiers in the game?
