My brother is meeting us at OKW in a week.......he and his family are taking the train from Philadelphia. They were told to get off in downttown Orlando. Does this sound right? The problem is that there seems to be only one car rental place in Downtown....Hertz. They are quoting over $400 for 5 days of a midsize.......Dow anyone have any other suggestions....? Any idea how much a tax would cost from the downtown Amtrak? Is there a better place to get off the train?

I thought the train went to Kissimmee also?

No matter what the rental cars will be higher (MONOPOLY!) They might try calling around and seeing what else is in the area and taking a cab to the location (or even the airport) for a cheaper car.

A lot of places will have courtesy shuttles that can pick you up, if they're not in your immediate area. Certainly worth checking into.

We're taking Amtrak from Trenton to Orlando arriving Nov 1. We opted for Tiffany Towncar services (tiffanytowncar.com - has $5.00 off coupon you can print from their website). They also have their rates on their website. The Unofficial Guide to Disney World gave these guys high marks - that's how we decided to use them. Amtrak Silver Star (probably the same train for your brother) doesn't stop in Kissimmee, only downtown Orlando. Hope this helps.
