How do you get a Mickey wake-up call?

I've always read about how you can get a wake-up call from Mickey or Stitch, but I've never figured out how to do it. Is it something you can do from the phone in your room, or do you do something at the front desk of the resort?

When we stayed at WL last October, there was a Wake-Up call button on the phone. We just pushed it every night, entered the info and Mickey and Stitch would call the next morning at our designated time.

I was usually up before the call (I set the room alarm clock) and would hit the speaker phone button when the phone rang. The kids LOVED waking up to Stitch yelling "Good Morning!!"

It's pretty obvious when you look at the phone in your room. When you get the call, sometimes you'll hear music for a few seconds before Stitch speaks, so stay on the line! :goodvibes

Thank you both! I figured it would be pretty obvious

Do you get to pick whether you get the call from Mickey or Stitch? We'd like to try both on our trip, since my boyfriend really likes Stitch and I really like Mickey :thumbsup2

I didnt look on the phone when we were there because by the time we arrived I wasnt as into it as I thought I would be. The main reason being because I dont really like stitch and the last thing I wanted was him screaming at me at 6 am. I thought about doing it to mess wth my brother though(he would let his cell phone alarm go off like 6 times every morning. I pretty much had to wake him up).

You do not get to choose who will wake you. I have heard that if you set it for an odd time, like 6:03 that you may be more likely to get Mickey, while setting it for 6:05 will get Stitch. Will find out in a few days.

We gave up on the wake-up call last year after the first two nights because I can't stand Stitch and his screaming in my ear was the most annoying thing in the world. I ended up using my cell phone for my alarm. I wish they'd go back to one of the Fab Five.

When we were there last week, the wake up call was the same every day: Mickey AND Stitch. The setup is that you're listening to Disney Radio and Mickey is the DJ. They're coming out of a pop song and Mickey starts his chatter. Stitch suddenly interrupts, screaming good morning while Mickey tries to get control of the situation.

I am with you 100%. I really find the Stitch wakeup annoying and I never get Mickey anymore so I also set my cell phone alarm.

That's too bad you can't pick between the two. I'd really much rather have just Mickey call and say, "Good Mornin'!" :goodvibes

I guess I could consider using some of my Movie Reward points to get a few Enchanted Calls while we're there!

I can't believe how many people aren't Stitch fans. To each his own, I guess.

We love the wake up call..........it is Mickey and Stitch. Anyway, I think it is too cute.

I set my cell phone to go off 5 minutes before the wakeup call and then I hit the speaker when the wake up call comes. It is a wonderful way to start the day. But ds and I are big fans of Stitch.

How can you be a boy or a mother to a boy and not get Stitch? The big sweet heart trying to fight his badness level thing is so boyish.

I just love it and I think it is the perfect wake up call.

One of the guidebooks said that if you leave a wakeup call for an odd time such as 7:06 a.m. you are more likley to get Mickey than one of the other characters. This is what we have always done at al the resorts we have stayed at and it has always worked.:thumbsup2 However, in February when we stayed at WL, this worked on only 2 of the 3 mornings. When we tried to leave the same wake up call the evening before the third morning, the cast member said they could only accept wake up calls for even times such as 7, 7:15, etc. I told him we had always left odd times and he said basically, that couldn't be true that they didn't accept them. So, the third morning, at 7:15 we got Stitch (whose voice irritates the fire out of me in the morning:headache:) rather than my friend Mickey as we always have in the past.
So, it just depends on how nice your CM is, I guess!:sad2:

When we stayed at AKL this last December, the CM scheduling wake-up calls would not allow us to schedule it at an odd time. I even tried to do it with the automated service first, and it kept bouncing me to a CM. I too was told the system did not work that way, and it was not possible to do it.

Although, now that I think about it, on the very first day I was there, a CM did schedule it for an odd time and acted like it wasn't a problem at all. But all the other CM's for the rest of my trip acted like it was an impossibility.

When I used the automated service to schedule a wake-up call on the hour (or even the quarter hour), it went off without a hitch. But not so for the odd times. I was always bounced to a CM. And when I was bounced to the CM, he or she was of no help.

Also, all I ever heard was music for my entire stay. I stayed on the phone for maybe a minute, and all I heard was music. I asked a wake-up-call CM about it, and she said that some resorts had chosen to go with a more adult wake-up service and music was what they were offering. I tried every day of a 10-day stay (my heart wouldn't let me give up), and I was so disappointed to only get music.

When I came back to the disboards, I found out that if I had held onto the phone for a couple of minutes, I would have heard Stitch and then Mickey. I wish I had tried that.

I don't know what that CM was talking about when she said some resorts had chosen a more adult wake-up call. I hope she was just grasping at straws to give me a reason, and that it's not really true. She only told me that after my fourth or fifth call one morning, so it could be she just wanted to get the crazy guest off the phone. In retrospect, I was scheduling multiple wake-up calls every morning, trying to hear Mickey's voice. They probably thought I had gone off the deep end. But it is just such a part of the magic for me! LOL

We have always had wake-up calls on our Disney trips. It used to be just Mickey. And then once the movie Lilo and Stitch opened, it was always Stitch first and then Mickey would get on the phone to rescue us from Stitch. At first, I didn't like that. But then Stitch grew on me. And once I really listened to what was happening in the wake-up call, it was kind of cute. Stitch would scream in my ear to wake me up, and then Mickey would apologize for Stitch's behavior. I like it!

I really did miss that magic in December. I was so bummed. But next trip, I am going to hold on to the phone for a long time and see if their voices start after listening to a little music.

I set a wake up call 6 or 7 days and never once got a character message.

The phone rang at the correct time, but there was never anything there. Fortunately, I didn't tell my kids about it so they were never disappointed. I put it on speaker phone and left it on for several minutes in case the message did come on to surprise them. I really can't think of anything I did wrong. I think it just wasn't working. :sad2:
