How do you find out when characters will be appearing in the parks

i am furiously working on my itinerary (thanks TGM) and had a question.

A lot of the guide information out there says characters that MAy appear in the parks and says they may appear intermittently (which means now and then) and the times are all over the map (like a 3 hour window)

Is there anyway to find out in advance or even that day which characters will be appearing where and when? I'd like some concrete info not may appear at this time and may appear any time in this 3 hour period

Thanks a million

Thanks ScoJo15 these are the exact pages i am looking at right now. Still the times are so varied

This is what i am talking about
"Characters from "Winnie the Pooh" appear intermittently. Daily 1:00-3:55pm & 4:35-8:30pm "

4:35 to 8:30 that is like 4 hours, does this mean those characters will be there all that time or will they be appearing sometime in that time frame?

So again, is there anywhere i can find out some more narrower time frames for characters than the above example.

Anyone?

From the trip this week we lucked into it with many - but asked CM's about times. I asked about Figment at Journey into Imagination and they told me he was there on the half hour. Asked about Woody at MGM and they told me specific times. P of C staff told me the time the Peter Pan characters would be there. Other than that - sheets given at enterance during day is close - but as you said - too varied of a time.

Characters are usually at a location for half hour increments it seemed. With a break to change out with other characters.

While I think this is some pretty meticulous planning you are doing you can have a cast member call for you to find out some exact times for the characters but if it says 4:30-8:30 then there should be a character out that whole time. Maybe give or take five minutes for them to break. But if your planning relies that heavily on it then you may have some troubles because characters are never guarenteed anywhere. I think you should see characters when you can and focus the majority of your planning for which attractions you want to see and where you want to eat etc. But whatever you do, have fun!! :)

When they say Pooh & friends will be at a certain place between 4 & 8... SOME charcter will always be there between those hours. They all wont be there the entire time. It may be Piglet and Tigger when you get there and Pooh and Eeyore are on break.

Its like that at Al's Toy Barn in MGM.. My DS loves Buzz. BUt sometimes when we get there in the time frame, its only Woody and Jessie.

Like the others have said, it means that there will be characters there during that time period. They will switch them out as breaks are needed.

I don't think you will get any more concrete info than that.

Hope this has helped :)

Finding characters can be a time consuming and sometimes frustrating experience so keep that in mind. We always do a couple character meals to see Mickey and the Princesses, saves alot of waiting and you have to eat sometime anyway.

Finding out ahead of time can be difficult - all greetings are subject to change! If there is a particular character then you can usually find out at guest relations inside the park (town hall at MK for exampe) if and or when that character will appear in the park that day.

As far as the guides this is from Steve Soars wonderful site ~

"Character Greetings -Mickey Mouse Judge's Tent
Sunday-Wednesday & Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm
Thursday & Friday from 10:00am to 8:00pm
Disney Pals Toontown Hall of Fame
Sunday-Wednesday & Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm
Thursday & Friday from 10:00am to 8:00pm
Friends from the Hundred Acre Woods Toontown Hall of Fame
Daily from 10:00am to 8:00pm
Princess Room Toontown Hall of Fame
Sunday-Wednesday & Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm
Thursday & Friday from 10:00am to 8:00pm
"

In this example there will be characters to meet during those hours but the characters can change. Disney Pals can be chip and dale or goofy and max. The greeter at the entrance to the queue can tell you before you queue but there is no way to tell until you get to the area.

On the other hand when it says something like this, from steve's site again:

"Figment NP Imagination Pavilion.
Daily from 11:45am to 2:15pm and 3:00pm to 6:00pm intermittently."

In this case and most of the WS greeting areas you may find them only on the hour/quarter hour etc. Again you won't know until you get to the area.

In China you may find Mulan at 2pm and Mushu at 2:30 its hit or miss.

Honestly unless it is a must see character we just plan our day around attractions and such. Then if we see someone the kids are interested in we line up.

If you have a specific character in mind try posting that for additional help.
