I've been trying to narrow down our choices for exchanging our points for a European vacation in 2005, recognizing that there may be many changes in the properties that are available between now and then. How do you find out the mix/availability of different types of units (1BR, 2BR, etc.) at the different resorts. I printed out the property information sheets from II that are on the DVC member site, but those pages do not indicate the types of units each resort has. Is there a source for such information?

My recommendation is to join TUG at www.tug2.net, mention my name and email and I think I get a free ad. AT $15 for the first year and $10 renewals, it's a bargain and you even get a free ad. They have listings and reviews of over 1800 resorts. There are also a list of members that are willing to take emails for those reviewed resorts and you could email them with all type of questions. The reviews themselves many times have that type of info as well as other websites that may have more info. You could always call the resort themselves. TUG also has a BBS where you could post the questions. Just be careful, they're a little anti DVC at times. I doubt II or DVC will have the type of information you want. What II should have is how many units there are total at a resort, within a certain range, but not divided by unit type. I know I have listings for many of them divided by number of owners and also by number of units. It goes something like less than 10 units, 10-20 units, less than 50, less than 100 and less than 250 or something like that. The list is 1998 so some wouldn't be included.

If you simply want to make sure a property, or properties, have certain size units to know what to put, email me with the resort and I'll look in the book and get the info back to you. What it won't tell you is that they have 20 studios and one 2 BR.

Thanks, Dean. When I get things narrowed down a bit I may email you to find out what you know about the units at a few places. I will seriously consider your advice to join TUG, also.
