How do you find a resort's/subdivision physical address?

I am thinking of traveling with a friend and her son. We would be going to Orlando, and mostly to Universal. I have decided that instead of a hotel room which would be cramped, we should rent a townhome or house for the week. I have been browsing VRBO and have found quite a few that look promising. My question is this: how can you find out the physical address or at least the general address for a resort? Most of the listings say how far they are from WDW, but not to Universal. Anyone know what subdivisions are closest to Universal? And has anyone heard of Encantada Resort?

USO's county (forgot the name of it) doesn't allow short term rentals so most of the rental homes are in Kissimmee along Rt. 192.
If you'll be going to USO mostly, I'd find something close to I-4.

Sorry I've never heard of that neighborhood you mentioned but personally I would recommend staying onsite at Universal. Their hotels are all 4* deluxe (Hard Rock Hotel is our fav.) with awesome service. 2/3 hotels are an easy walk to the parks and the best perk ever: Just show your room key to bypass the lines, like an unlimited fast pass. Once you do it you will be soooo spoiled. :cloud9: Just ask everyone at the Universal boards.

We like to spread out in a condo or pool house too but USO is one place we're willing to cram into a room. Also 1 nt's hotel stay gets you FOTL privileges for 2 full days: the day you check in (even early am) and all day on check out day. AAA members get a discount too. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice. If I had $200/nt or more to spend, I would def stay on site, but even between the two of us, that is a lot of money. The townhouse I am looking at has 4 bedrooms, a private pool and full kitchen, etc for $700/wk with all fees and taxes included. I have never been away for more than one night with this friend, so I think being able to spread out will be helpful. Besides, I will be getting to the parks at opening, so FOTL will not be as necessary. Actually, if I had that much to spend, I would do the 4/3 deal at WDW and then buy Universal tickets on top of that;)

As far as I can remember Encantada is a new resort towards the west end of highway 192 - certainly it is close to Disney but I wouldn't recommend that end for US. We stay more towards Kissimmee off the 192 but east of the I4 and find it pretty central for everything. Unless you want a condo/timeshare the Kissimmee area is probably where to look as Orange County doesn't have short term rental licences for private rentals.

You may want to check out Vista Cay Resort if you are planning to go to Universal.

Here is a map with villa locations.

As a previous poster mentioned, the county that Universal Studios is located in does not allow rentals. Some routes are better than others to avoid traffic though, so if you are really interested in a particular community be sure to ask for help in determining the best way to get there.

If you don't want to stay onsite at Universal (have to agree though that onsite is wonderful :)), I second Vista Cay. You can check out www.vistacayrent.com and sent out a quote request. I actually had several offers submitted to me for Thanksgiving week 2007 that were less than $700 (a couple that were less than $600), and that included all taxes, fees, etc.

VC is located on Universal Drive (which takes you to Universal Studios) adjacent to the Convention Center. It's a gated, upscale community with condos and townhouses.

Thanks, I'll check VC out!
