How do you eat ribs?

This may be stupid, but I've never eaten ribs in a restaurant, do you use your hands or do you use a knife and fork? Seems like using hands would be pretty messy, do they give you wet naps?

Hands--for me anyway.
I often get ribs at places like Ruby Tuesday and wind up going thru about 20 napkins!!!
Some places will give you wet napkins.

Definately with the hands. If they are really good ribs, you will need lots of napkins and wet napkins. :)

If the meat falls right off of the bone I might use a knife and fork if I felt I was in a more "upscale" place. I've never been, so I always use my hands! :thumbsup2

With my hands of course :thumbsup2 I did use a knife and fork for the ribs that were on my hawaiian plate at Tchoup chop since there were 3 different entree's on the plate.

My thing is if it's a rib joint I use my hands. If it's upscale I just don't order ribs. I couldn't eat them with a knife and fork and I'd be to embarassed to eat with my fingers at a fine dining place.

Just my 2 cents

Ribs are a finger food...if you're not eating with your fingers...you're not eatin' 'em right. :)

And if I were in an upscale place, and they had ribs on the menu, darn rootin tootin I'd eat them with my fingers. If they didn't want you to, they shouldn't offer 'em.

I suppose I'm weird......I use just a fork. :rotfl: I can't stand to get sauce up under my nails. No amount of wet-naps will get that out, so unless you happen to have a nail file with you, you've got icky fingernails till ya get home. But then again, I would never get ribs unless it was from a place that specializes in them, so that I'm sure the meat will probably just fall off the bone. :thumbsup2

Just for those sauce under the nails days (or grease under the nails)
