how do you earn stars on magic

just wondering how you earn stars on magic pins

When you combine two or more of the same magic pin together you get start magic. Like for ex. I have four fireworks magics, I put them together and now have a four star magic pin

.... and once you combine them, you cannot undo them.

But how do you get awarded another of the same magic?
and then how do you combine them?

You can get multiple codes from quests in the parks for some.

You can play fireworks and get a pin for first place or over 240,000 after every ten times.

You can trade them and get multiples.

When you want to combine two or more together, you choose the "combine" option in the pin screen. You will see small yellow dots at the bottom of a pin with more than one star.

What do the extra stars do? I combined 2 of my snowmen pins and don't really notice a difference in the magic.
