Just wondering how you guys display your albums around the house..I have been thinking of buying a big basket and putting the albums in my living room so guests (and me too) can look thru them..what do you do?..TIA Marianne
That sounds nice. I don't do anything with mine..terrible I know. I want a shelf or books built to display them...I wish they fit under my end tables. But they are a couple inches too tall!
The baske sounds nice but if you have a lot of embellishments in your books you need to be careful the weight could cause the embellishments to shift or cut through the protective page or leave marks on the opposite side.
I keep mine on a bookshelf on our entertainment center. I've heard the "proper" way to store them is upright so air can circulate. Anybody know if there's any truth to that?
I have a nice looking cheep bookcase in my living room. Maybe inexpensive is the better word. The thing is the you need the kind that give you the ability to adjust the height of the shelves. Your albums should be stored upright It has to do with the weight of the other pages.
That being said, My son's Memorial album stays on the coffee table. It is more important to me to have it out and accessible to myself and anyone that walks into my home.
I have mine standing on the floor against my dresser in our bedroom. Not good, I know. Maybe the next time I get it out or look at it, I will get motivated to start last year's Disney on Ice(Nov 02) and March 03 WDW trip. I am so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a huge entertainment center and use two shelves on each side for albums. I've also heard they need to be stored upright. I do find that most people will want to take a look at them when they see them too, which I love.

All of my albums are stored upright on my bookshelves. Except for my Disney Albums, and my son's Marine Corp albums, the rest are all Creative Memories and I have them engraved on the spine - THE KNIGHT FAMILY 2003 (for example). They look so nice on the bookshelf and they're readily accessible to all.
We have two local ladies who do embossing on album covers and spines. (I believe they only do Creative Memory albums). To have the front and spine embossed costs about $14.00 - but the results are beautiful!!! All of my albums are lined up along the shelf with the embossed spines telling what is in each album.
A bookshelf for now. I found this great library cabinet over the weekend but it doesn't fit in the space I need. It had 3 shelfs and each shelf was about 13 inches deep and about 14 inches high. It had glass doors. I am really bummed it didn't fit because it would have been perfect. I store my regular albums in my master closet. I have about 15 books with over 500 photos in each. Not sure what I am going to do because now that I have a digital camera I am taking way more pictures....
