Hey guys ! :surfweb: We are staying at the Fort Wilderness Resort in a cabin for the 1st time ! :yay: Also will be our 1st time at Disney during Christmas. :santa: Sooooo my question to you all is How do you decorate the inside of your cabin for Christmas? Or maybe you dont :confused3 But still i would love to hear how the regulars bring the Christmas spirit inside! :cheer2:

pictures would be AWSOME

Cant wait to get some ideas for our up coming vacation to the Merriest Place on Earth :santa:

Bump.

I'm not a cabiner, but would be interested in an answer too. Same could apply to a MH or other camping device. You can read a lot about outside decor, but not so much about the inside.

We hung some twinkle lights inside, along the tops of the windows. We also took 3 wreaths and made a mickey ear wreath (which turned into Minnie ears when we added a big red bow, lol). But since we fly in, we can't really take too many decorations.

I'm curious to see some ideas, too.

We also fly so size & weight is an issue. So far i have bought a snow man & santa glitter felt standy and i am ordering me 3 kids stockings from Disney Florist oh and some lights for the 2 front windows BUT i still want more lol

BUT I NEED ME SOME IDEAS !:confused3 COME ON PEOPLE HELP A MOMMY OUT :cheer2:

If the grandkids come, normally with dirty socks and sweaty t-shirts.

Well, I'm pretty sure we're the oddballs, but here goes ... :rolleyes1

One year we stayed in a cabin and took a 6' Christmas tree on vacation with us. Complete with lights and Disney ornaments! It was still too small for my hubby's liking, so he put it on top of the table and stuck the tree in the living room corner.

THEN ... he got on a ladder and strung lights over the roof of the entire cabin - it looked like a gingerbread house! so cute!

I think we had candy cane lights along the drive and a few other things.

Someone knocked on the door to ask "how long do you have to be staying here to decorate like THAT?!" ...... imagine our surprise when the guy knocking on the door happened to be a friend of my DH from his youth group days in the '80's, and who was staying in a cabin across the street/loop!

But in my DH's defense ... he can't help it. It's a sickness - he and his mom try to out-do each other all the time - they both are CRAZY for Christmas. Every September-ish we get a phone call "hee hee! I have a wreath on my door, what do you have out so far?" (uhh, that's a wee tad early, even for US!)

Oh, and he's an electrician ... so Christmas & lights (and going a little overboard) are just in his blood, I guess? :santa:

:thumbsup2 Awsome ! :thumbsup2 so now i must ask........how long were you staying ? and did you ship it all down in advance ? if sohow much did it cost? and how far in advance did you ship?

LOVE IT ! KEEP EM COMING ! :worship:

This year will be my first time in a cabin as well. My first thought was to go all out and string lights up on the roof, I got the dimensions and everything. Then I thought that stringing lights up and over the roof might be frowned upon by Management (liability of me being on the roof - I don't think Tink has enough pixie dust to stop me from falling). Can I assume you and your husband were not asked to take the lights down off of the roof or otherwise in trouble with Fort Management?

no. thats my answer.
and you are welcome.

okay, I lied. my new answer would be,,maybe.
there, thats my new answer.
and you are welcome again.

oh,,and you are welcomed to the camping boards too.

Have you considered looking for inflatable things? Compact to pack, and lightweight. I'm not talking about the ones for outdoors that use a motor and everything - just inflatable things for indoors. Also, some of those fold out paper bells in red and green would work well and be light and compact to pack, as well as streamers in holiday colors.

No, we drove down ... 900 miles (which was all the more funny with running into his old high school friend across the cabin loop! what are the odds?) - and hauled a small, enclosed U-Haul type trailer (the small ones people use when transporting kids to college). We own the trailer, so that was no problem.

Nobody (management) said anything to us ... I was kinda holding my breath on that one. :rolleyes1
