How do you cut in a straight line

I can't seem to get it perfectly straight ... But some of the straight edge cutters are $20. I mean it doesn't look horrible slightly off... What do you use?

I'll either use my fiskars 12 inch cutter or my coluzzle knife up against a ruler.

When I first started, I used a craft knife and ruler. As much cutting as you will be doing, you might want to invest in a good paper trimmer though. HTH!

I bought a really good 12" Carl trimmer at my local photography store. I recently saw it is a sb catalog for about $10 more than I paid. I use it quite a bit, so for me it was well worth the investment.

I have 3 tools for straight cuts. The one I use the most when working at home for cuts bigger than about 6" is a traditional paper cutter that I had. I also have the personal trimmer from CM for the smaller (under 6") cuts. I also have a Fiskar trimmer that is smaller and more portable that travels with me.

The main reason I bought straight edge cutters was speed. I can cut much faster - as well as straighter with them. Now I have several - the 8 inch fiskers, the 12 inch fiskers, the fiskers rotary trimer, the CM set (which has straight as well as shapes)..... Can you tell I collect to much scrapbook stuff?

Yes it is definately worth the investment to get a cutter, even at $20. The amount of times you will use it and save on the headache of straight is soooo worth it.

I have both the Fiskars 12 inch and the Provo Craft bright green one I think its called Zizzion-

The provo craft one I like and since it cost me about 5... I am not complaining

Most Walmarts should carry the Fiskars one for about 15

I don't. I was told in a college design class that I am a "bad cutter." Oh, the shame.



Just kidding. If you can find a decent paper cutter (meaning one that won't leave your edges all raggedy-lookin' and one that's sharp enough to slice right through w/o dragging the paper offline) for relatively cheap, that'd be the route I'd go.
