How do you cover luggage to store it in a dusty place?

I’ve never seen luggage traveling in covers. I’m trying to visualize the carousel at baggage claim and there are no covers in my memory. Given that the airline industry seems to go from crises to crises in recent years, we never check bags unless we need to check a bag on the return trip due to purchases (rarely done.)

We can do 12 days (easily) with our carry on and the largest possible personal item that will fit under the seat. If we go 14, we spend a couple of hours doing laundry mid trip.
It seems to be a more recent thing. I've noticed quite a few at our home airport in addition to when we land, but it might be because we use them now so are "looking out" for them.

interesting. As I said, I rarely check bags but when I have needed to- most recent last December- I’ve never seen covers.

We just got in at 2am (thanks to delays on the very slow July 4th travel day) from a 12 night trip but no Checked bags.

I do understand wanting to protect the bag. We’re in love with our Away cases and don’t want them tossed around.

Hmm... I use our luggage to store
things, as that keeps the dust off
whatever is inside as well as acting
like extra drawers.
When we travel I pile all that stuff
on the bed until we return,
then it all goes back in.

I replaced my hard sided luggage a number of years ago with soft sided luggage that has held up very well. It seems the soft sided luggage has more 'give' and just bounces off of other luggage it comes in contact with instead of getting dented. I have never seen any luggage going around bagge claim conveyor covered in something else. Doubt that would work and could be a bigger issue if that cover got torn/ripped and then got snagged on the conveyor.

Hard sided luggage. We keep it in my walk in closet since my wife doesn't have room in hers.

One thing I do is put a dryer sheet in the bags to keep them smelling good.
