How do you cover luggage to store it in a dusty place?

Any good ways to store luggage in a dusty place that does not involve a giant trash bag and tape?

Maybe a Rubbermaid bin?
We keep our luggage in a storage closet that isn’t dusty. There’s other stuff in there, so we have to “dig” around to get to the luggage.

I have some large, clear trash bags I use to store stuff like this in my attic. They are called recycling bags, and they are pretty tough. Some places make people bag recycling in clear bags.

Mine came with soft covers that fit over the suitcases for storage. You can also find covers on Amazon.

same here-mine came with fabric bags that cinch at the top. the ones on amazon are reasonably priced. otherwise with some of our accumulated luggage it's-bag inside of bigger bag inside of biggest bag (which if you bought off amazon would minimize the number of bags to purchase).

Kind of off-topic, but does anyone use covers when traveling? We have the hard sided cases that we bought but I'm worried they're going to get scratched/dinged up (already happened with a soft sided cases with Mickey's face on it, other suitcase had the wheel broken off when we arrived). We purchased some off Amazon but they didn't hold up very well and split at the seams.

Luggage should be purchased with the understanding that it will get beat up. There is nothing you can really do to stop that, unless you never check bags on planes.

With regards to luggage getting dinged up, I don’t fuss over it to much to be honest. I use hard sided luggage and figure the more dings & scuffs the more travel I’m doing- so that’s a good thing in my eyes!

In the dust cover it came with and large trash bags for those that didn’t come with dust covers.

Home improvement stores sell those large plastic drop cloths mostly used when painting. But the thinner ones are large enough to drape over something you want to store.

I’ve never seen luggage traveling in covers. I’m trying to visualize the carousel at baggage claim and there are no covers in my memory. Given that the airline industry seems to go from crisis to crisis in recent years, we never check bags unless we need to check a bag on the return trip due to purchases (rarely done.)

We can do 12 days (easily) with our carry on and the largest possible personal item that will fit under the seat. If we go 14, we spend a couple of hours doing laundry mid trip.

Last trip to MCO I visibly witnessed a total mashup of luggage coming...no.... SHOOTING...out of the back area onto the conveyor belt. Massive noise ensued. The pileup immediately was easily 6 feet high with luggage all jammed up together. It was actually shocking. But it taught me a lesson....never buy good luggage. It WILL get tossed around. I learned that lesson before on a milder level and it became TJMaxx for me all the time, but this episode totally reinforced that theory. So, being concerned about dusty luggage between trips seems laughable to me now. Garbage bag wrapped (not always if next trip in 3-6 months later) and in the basement closet or attic it goes.
