how do you check in?? requests

Well...i KNOW how to check-in...but what i'm talkin about is ... do you ask after giving your name if they were able to meet any of your requests? do you wait until they tell you where your room is? Just wondering what your experiences have been.

Is there a "right" way to ask about it? In december the requests i told my TA were a ground floor, epcot end room at beach club...when i got there only non-smoking was noted on the ressie!! That wasn't one of my requests!

Hello once again!!

To answer your question, at check-in, after I give our name, etc, I usually ask the CM if she/he could please check to see if my requests were noted, then I list the requests in the order of importance (floor, room #, smoking/nonsmoking, etc). Usually they will look at their computer screen and tell you what was listed, and then I ask nicely if any of the requests are able to be granted. Hope this helps. When I check in after I give my name, I always say, "I requested such and such. Are you able to accomodate me in that request?" I think it's best to remind them of the requests in case for some reason your request didn't make it to the room assigner. Even if they aren't able to grant my request, I make sure I thank them for trying.

When checking in, you will want to make the CM aware of your requests right after they confirm your name and address. This way, they don't check you into the room, and then have to reassign it. (Once a room gets checked in, and then reassigned, the old room automatically becomes 'dirty' and a housekeeper has to go back to it to verify that it is clean)

Hey all ... thanks for the great advice, that helps! I never wanted to be a pain in the neck in the first minute there! but i was wondering when it became a problem for the CM to change it. Just trying to dispell the awful rumour that people from NY are pushy!

SeaSpray: I'll only have about 90 days to wait after I return from my upcoming trip! It was the only way i could stand waiting for the cruise!
