What is the best way to carry your tickets in the park. I don't know what the current size of the ticket is, but I remember hearing that it is just paper (not a credit card type pass) and easy to rip. I know that you need to keep it handy since you will need it every time you obtain a fp. Thanks

I recently purchased a plastic coupon organizer that's long enough to hold folded park maps and will put park tickets in there as well.

I put all the important stuff - cash, room key, tickets, etc. - in a snack sized ziploc bag in a small purse with a long strap. I don't carry a wallet at all - too heavy! I can wear the bag draped over my shoulder to make it easier to hang on to on the rides. The plastic bag keeps things from floating around in the purse so you don't have to dig for the important stuff. It also keeps the important stuff dry in case of rain or wet rides and protects it from ripping, etc. I put everything in plastic bags inside the purse - cell phone, walkie talkie, etc.! For bigger items I use sandwich sized bags. If I'm really concerned I'll use the smallest sized freezer bags because they are heavier and stand up to abuse more. I should by stock in Ziploc.

getting ready for my first family trip with my husband, 3 yr old and in-laws sept 30 - oct 7. i plan on carrying a backpack. any tips on this or maybe some things i should bring that i might not think about cause i am so exited!!!

P.S. So glad i discovered this board! it has answered ALOT of my questions. :jumping3:

My entire family wears fanny packs when we go to the parks. My husband and I carry the resort cards/key to the world in ours for the children ... and we all carry water and baggies of snacks. The adult fanny packs also hold a cell phone and somehow my husband fits in the digital camera too !

Where did you find fanny packs for your kids? I've have looked everywhere and I can't find any that are small enough for their waists. Also are they big enough for autograph books?

A tip I discovered from the Dis boards was to use a lanyard with a plastic ID type holder attached to the end. I found some decent ones (lanyard and plastic together) at Walmart for 99 cents. They are in the jewelry area, near the watches. I just put our room key, photopass cards, tickets, etc in the holder where I can get to them quickly.

I found kid size fanny packs at WalMart for $1.00. They have SpiderMan and some other ones (not Disney though). They were near the checkout by where the books are located. Good Luck!

For my last trip we purchased document holders from LLBean for 8.00, you wear it like a sling and it holds your lic, room key, park ticket, credit cards and money. Its very light you don't even know your wearing it. Its a little larger than a credit card with one window slot for your ID(which your constantly showing).

That is exactly what I use and I was wondering how to describe it, you did a great job.

I sometimes wear it around my neck othertimes I put it in my pocket with the clip part around my belt loop for extra safety. I have lost more stuff from my pockets than I care to state.

To the OP, if your ticket is on your room key it will be a credit card type card. If it is an AP or a MYW ticket it will be paper but not at all easy to rip. They are made of the tyvek material and can withstand quite a bit of use including a machine wash or a swim. I have had an AP for a few years that is not a credit card type and it has taken a beating and still works great.

For peice of mind you can photo copy the back, in case of loss it can be voided and replaced with the numbers on the back. If it does become unusable it can be easily and quickly replaced at guest services as well.

Usually when we go, we go with the Disney Travel Company. Well they have gave us lanyard and plastic card holder. The Lanyard is great for pin collectors and the plastic card holder is great for when you need the place for tickets, money, id, credit cards etc. But I usually have a small purse with me. As for someone asking about small fanny packs, try wallie world or if you have a disney store in your city they should have them or if they have kid orinated stores around then that would be my best bet.

I didn't see to many people carrying them. I think most people carry a fanny pack which I also use but for my camera.

I'm just back from POP. I used my Sesame Place around-the-neck waterproof container. It works well for water parks too - you can go onto tubes and water slides and keep things (credit card, key to the world, some cash) dry and immediately accessible for Fast Passes. I don't feel comfortable carrying the real important stuff in a backpack behind me - too easy for 'fast fingers' to pick something out of it. You can buy this type of thing other places too - i've heard Walmart but it might be only in certain areas.

Have Fun.

I put them in a plastic case, made to go in the pools, at the end of my pin lanyard. I got mine at one of the water parks, but I think they can be found at the resorts too.

I always buy a macrame (sp?) back pack at the end of the summer for our next Disney trip. It's very lightweight and has a separate pouch for ID's, tickets, etc... but also allows for some extra socks, flip flops (very lightweight also) for a change if our feet start barking! It's also great for souveniers, light jackets, etc... :cool1:

I've found the last two at Target at the end of the summer.... :Pinkbounc

I use this from LL Bean...

I like the idea of the little plastic neck lanyards, but the lanyard was always so flimsy to me that I would have worried all that time that it was going to break and I would lose everything.

This isn't on their website now.... did you buy it recently?

Kimmielee, it's still there. Look under Luggage, then travel accessories, then document holders or type in a search for Gatecheck ID organizer. It's only $8, comes in many colors, and looks great for travel.

Thats exactly what we used, I just couldn't figure out how to ad the link! It works out great the slots even have a gripper so your cards stay in place. Nothing gets lost!
