Hi all Disney Fans:

For several years I have seen guest of the park ridding on the parade floats.
My dd6 has ask me how they get to do it?

Honestly I had no answer, so I told her that they probably won some sort of contest.

First Question
Does anyone have an answer?
Second question
Has anyone here been part of the parades and would like to share their story??

Thanks in advanc pirate: :earsgirl: ::MinnieMo

You have to be chosen to be part of the parade! Disney CM will stand around the gates during the first hour or so of the park opening scoping out families. They normally look for someone who looks like a big disney fan, wearing ears or a disney t-shirt something like that. You can't ask to be part of it, they won't let you. It is completely random and you just have to be one of the lucky ones. There is no trick at all to it. I was part of the parade once and I was with my mom and my sister and we were all wearing our mickey ears and disney vacation t-shirts, we got to be the grand marshalls!!! It was awesome.

My DH and I were in the parade at the AK. We were on our honeymoon and wearing the bride/groom ears. We were getting ready to eat lunch at the Tusker House when a CM approached us and asked if we were planning on staying for the parade. I said no and he asked if asked if we would stay if we were in it. Of course I said yes. It was an amazing experience. We felt like movie stars. :cool1: There was another newly married couple as well as two families with children. One of the fathers was a former basketball player and the other family got picked out of the blue.

Our family was also once picked for the AK parade while eating lunch at the Tusker House. They gave us instructions on how to properly wave to the crowd!! The parade seemed so much longer while having to wave the whole time! My 3-year old son actually fell asleep riding on the float - it was a big hit with the crowds!

They gave us a disposable camera and took a few pictures of us on the float. Also much appreciated were the earplugs they handed out - the music is LOUD!

While we were in line for one of the "character greeting trails" at Animal Kingdom, a CM walked up to the lady in front of us (while her son was with the character) and asked them to be in the parade. Talk about jealous!
