How do you answer the question "where are you from?"

I usually say that I was born outside of Chicago, but I moved to Oklahoma in junior high. I'm not Sooner born, but I was very definitely Sooner bred. (And when I transfer schools in the fall, I guess I'll be a South Florida bull dead? Who knows..)

Well since i have lived in the same city all my life, i just say San Diego.

I say Boston, MA since I was born here and lived here all my life.

Since DH is in the military my answer usually sounds like this:

"Well, I am originally from NY state, but I live in xxxxxxx."

I've lived in Atlanta for 15 years but I never claim it. Being from Brooklyn defines me. It makes people understand my ways, my lifestyle and my attitude.

Like I've always said, It's not where I'm from it's who I AM!

When I moved out to Colorado after living in Chicago I would answer "I'm from Michigan by way of Chicago."

I usually say the place I was born is where I am from. Since I live in the same state now, I usually say Minnesota. We lived in Utica NY for a few years, so Minnesota seems generic enough.

I've only moved 32 miles away from where I'm originally from. I tell everyone I'm originally from there but I live in Redneckville now.

If it's someone not from south louisiana, I'll say Baton Rouge.
If it's someone from south Louisiana, I'll say that I grew up in my hometown but that I've been here in Baton Rouge for the past 7 years.

I normally just say Houston to those who are not from Texas but to those who are from Texas I tell them my hometown--Pearland.
It to be a very small town and no one knew where it was. Now everyone plus their grannies are moving here and its waaaay to crowded now.

Right now, I say that I currently live in Mississippi, but am FROM New Jersey. If I like the next place we move to, I might claim that one. (Crossing my fingers and hoping for a Florida move in 8 months!!)

If I were, say, at WDW, and someone asked, "So, where are you folks from?", I'd say Colorado, just north of Denver. Sometimes we say Boulder, CO, they usually know where that is (we live about 15 miles away). If someone from here asks where I'm from, I say that I was born in Bremerton, WA, but have moved all over (navy brat). I usually state that I graduated from HS in Wyoming. Stephen will always say Wyoming is his home.

I'm From Texas (usually just say Houston unless someone seems to know the area -- I'm in the "town outside of Houston" group), born in Utah, but my heart lives in New Mexico and Colorado.

I live in the same city I was born in, just a different state! I ususally tell people I'm from Kansas City - then most people will ask about Kansas. I live in Kansas City, MO- I was born in Kansas City, KS
