I realize the subject heading sounds pretty silly, but we are looking for ways other families addressed this question.

We will be staying in a two bedroom villa at OKW. Everytime dw and I go to WDW, we charge everything to our room. Im assuming we all will have the same room key. This year my in-laws will be traveling and staying with us. My in-laws always go to great lengths to make sure that everything is fair-nobody pays more than they have too. So what is the easiest way to handle this situation when dining? Is it possible that we have two separate accounts with the same room key? If so, that will answer our question.

Thanks so much :) You guys are the best!!

You can only give ONE credit card for the account.

BUT

each room key has a suffix, so you can go before check out (or each day) for a copy of the bill. On the bill it will show what each card charged, so you can determine how much each person(s) owes and pay that off. When dining pay seperately (if possible) if you can't just split that charge and when f&mil payy there share pay for that part of the shared cost.

We had a two bedroom a few years back when we took my husband's parents with us. They had the studio room. They were able to use their own credit card and we had ours.

We were there a couple weeks ago, and used the suffix number on the bill to determine each person's charges. Every restaurant was willing to split the bill. The only advice I would give is to tell the waitstaff up front how you want to split the bill so they're not having to do it at the end of the meal, which takes more time.

Unless you get separate checks or just figure it out yourself, you will not be able to telll who got what. The simplest thing would be to either just work out a way to average it out or to get separate checks and pay for them separately. You could get separate checks and each use your room card and just add it up at the end or at least one of you use a credit card.

I am going next week for 8 days with my sister and my nephew (her son, he is 5). We are staying in a BWV studio. I will charge all meals to the room, on my credit card. We are splitting everything 50/50. I will pay for half of anything my nephew eats, as this trip is my idea, and he doesn't eat much. We're not going to worry about exactly who had what to eat.

When we get home from the trip I will let her know her half and she will write me a check. I'll then add my half, and pay off my credit card in full when the bill comes in the following month.

When my girlfriend and her son joined me and my son we did the following:

On our first trip, they DID take her credit card for her account and that was seperate from mine.

On our second trip - we just split the bill or took turns picking up the check! One dinner was her turn and the next night was our turn. It worked out the same.

Good Luck!;)
