How do we rent a car in the middle of our stay at CBR?

I need to know how to rent a car just for a day or two in the middle of our WDW stay. We will be taking town car service from the airport but then need to rent a car to go visit friends. How do we arrange for car pickup and drop-off? Can we do this right at our resort, CBR??? Help!

National Car Rental has an office right on Disney property. We rented a van during our stay, for only a couple of days. They came to the resort and picked up my husband and took him back to get the van. Returning it was just the reverse. They brought him back to the resort. The bell hop, at the front, will contact National for you.

Yes, it is National Rental car...they're located in the guest services area of the Dolphin! You can also arrange to drop your car off at the airport if you choose....

Thanks for the info...two more questions: Will they take both of us over to pick up the car so then we can just drive off from there, or does one of us have to go and then drive back to CBR to pick up the other? Also, do we have to make a reservation for the car?

Here is a list of the onsite car rental company's:

National (at the Exxon station MK and at the Dolphin)
Avis (Hilton)
Budget (Double Tree)
Dollar (Courtyard by Marriott)
Alamo (Wyndham Palace)
Thrifty (Grosvenor)

Most of these car rental agencies will pick you up at your resort.
You might want to check with them and see which has the better deal for your trip. Also one of them might be closer to CBR too.

Dopey:
With respect to your additional questions, National picked me up in a van -- I was the only passenger, so I'm sure both of you could be transported so you can get on your way faster. You might want to let them know when you call to arrange pick up so they don't overload the van.

Also, I suggest making your reservation in advance. You can sometimes get better rates by booking in advance.
