How do those opposed to flu (and other "new" vaccines) feel about Tetanus vaccine?

I have refused a vaccine such as flu or VZV

  • I am immunized against tetanus

  • I am not immunized against tetanus, but would take vaccine if I were injured

  • I am not immunized against tetanus, and I would refuse vaccine if I were injured

I don't want to debate the pros and cons of any other vaccine. I am curious as to how those who are opposed to vaccines such as flu, chicken pox, Gardasil, for whatever reason, (too new, not enough known about long-term effects, disease isn't that bad why risk complications from vaccine, etc) feel about Tetanus vaccine.

The reason I ask is because it is a vaccine that's been around a LONG time, so none of the objections I hear about the vaccines I listed above seem to apply, plus the fact that no one could argue that tetanus is sometimes a benign disease.

However, I've seen the range of everything from hesitantly refusing to adamantly opposing (more of the latter here recently, it seems...) Gardasil, flu, and VZV (chickenpox) and it made me curious as to how those opposed to these feel about tetanus.

Please only vote in the poll if you have refused (or would refuse if it were offered to you/your children) a vaccine. :goodvibes

ETA - Tetanus vaccine is recommended for EVERYONE every ten years, for life. A booster dose is recommended if injury occurrs more than 5 years after the last dose.

I have no problem with the tetanus. But if I had a new baby I would slow down the schedule of vaccines that are given now & spread them out until school started.

I waited a few years for the chicken pox vaccine my oldest did not get it but my younger two did.

I will not do Gardasil...my niece received it & got very ill afterwards. We will wait awhile. I thought I read about problems with it.
