I notice that whenever mine get up in the 260 range, they start remaining the same and eventually lose some. I have posted 3 times prior to this one today and they all were #265.

(Yep, made me a liar. I noticed that this was #266.)

I'm not sure, but I don't think adding additional posts to a thread you created count towards your total post count.

Well - any post that you make is counted, whether it's a first or a reply.

Second, it's entirely possible that during times of heavy loads on the boards they have it configured to not update the post counts right away. Take into account caching and other factors and times where you *think*it should have been updated , it wasn't and your browser is the culprit. You should be able to recreate this, I think.

Post something on one thread. Go the main part of the board and click the link for your post. Then click on 'New thread' and post another message (not a reply).

Then go back to the main board menu and reclick on the original message. Unless they are specifically resetting the timeout on the page, it may still show your original count.

In all honestly, it is an excercise in futility because they can and do archive old messages, and sometimes/sometimes not update the post counts. Ask Dan Murphy how many posts he *really* has made. Not what is shows....

Webmaster Barry takes them when your not looking and sells them on the black market to support his roller caoster addiction. .

WMB - you ruined it for me. I thought there was a post fairy who has a list of all 60,000+ members. he sat at the computer all day and counted everyones posts. I didnt know it was the interns.

Next you are going to tell me that it isnt the real Mickey Mouse I see 8 times a day in different parks.

:p :p

Of course, if you don't punch the chad out on your message all the way, the post doesn't count either...

We did consider outsourcing the post counter duties to India, but it didn't seem feasible. :)

Actually, there is some really tiny guy on the inside of your computer that counts the posts. He gets annoying sometimes though...
