We are booked at Boardwalk Inn with Free dining (SO EXCITED for our 1st Stay at the Boardwalk). Looking for recommendations for some of our quick service meals and thoughts on our ADR choices. I will say I MUCH prefer table service meals. We find it as a nice break from the parks. I almost upgraded us to the DxDP but did the math and was just cheaper to pay out of pocket for the extra table services meals and gives us the freedom to order more what we want at those. This is a very laid back trip with equal resort/pool time to the park time. Will be me, dh, our 10 year old son and one of his friends. So the trip is geared towards to 9/10 yo Boys and keeping them happy.

Day 1-** Lunch 1pm ESPN (Paying OOP)
**Dinner 805 pm Ohana Will go to MK after Lunch for a little while. Then might go back after dinner and fireworks for EMH. Or may just go back to the resort.

Day 2- **Breakfast snack credits or snacks from the room Then a couple of hours of swimming
**Lunch- Maybe boardwalk Pizza Window? After lunch head to MK for about 3 hours. Long enough to do our 3 FP's.
**Dinner- Mickey's Backyard BBQ- We are meeting friends there and this was the little girls request. I know the food isn't everyone's first choice (I personnally would prefer Hoop Dee Doo) but I think the unlimited alchool will help us adults survive. They boys don't care about characters but I think the food and unlimited mickey bars will appeal to them.

Day 3- **Breakfast snack credits or in room snacks- then Rope Drop Epcot
**Lunch- Adults will be snacking around food and wine. I will let the kids do that or if I find the menus don't appeal to them they can use quick service credits for a meal somewhere. We will take a long afternoon break back at the resort and get some pool time in.
**Dinner- 850 California Grill. We will do a combination of Credits and Paying out of Pocket here.

Day 4- **Breakfast- at the resort either some QS meals or snack credits
**Lunch- at Boathouse (boys request for the Smores Baked alaska) We will be meeting our friends here and paying out of pocket for this meal.
**Dinner- The DH and the boys will be at the Alabama football game at Camping world Stadium. I will be meeting up with some friends and Will us a dining credit for Dinner. Don't know for sure where we will be may wind up at ESPN if we can get in (no ressies during major games ) so we can also watch football. Just playing this one by ear.

Day 5-** Breakfast- in Room or Snacks from board walk Bakery the Rope Drop Animal Kingdom
** Lunch- QS somewhere either in Animal Kingdom or maybe at the Pool at the hotel as we will head back around lunch time for a break and pool time.
** Dinner- 7pm Flying Fish- This will be all out of pocket. Want to use the time this night to really enjoy the street preformers and night time at the Boardwalk and maybe pop in Abracadabra Bar (sp) if it appears kid friendly enough.

Day 6-** Breakfast- QS at the Boardwalk or one of the nearby resorts
** Lunch- Snack Credits at Food and Wine again. Will let the boys use QS credits again if they prefer.
**Dinner- After lunch we will take the boat from epcot to Hollywood studios and have dinner scheduled at 7pm at the Hollywood Brown Derby. On our last trip I only allowed us about an Hour and Half to get out and watch the SW Fireworks and it was a little crunched however we were on DxDP so 3 courses plus it was Son's Birthday and I had ordered a cake from the podium so it was alot to cram in 1.5 Hours. I plan to walk out and just watch from the walkway at Brown Derby again. We had a good enough view last time and were not in the middle of the crowds it was great. Will pay for the kids meals oop and use credits for Adults.

Day 7- We wil head home early so will use any remaining QS credits for breakfast and the rest of our snack credits for junk for the boys for the 12 hour drive home!!

We are booked at Boardwalk Inn Love the Boardwalk!! with Free dining (SO EXCITED for our 1st Stay at the Boardwalk). So the trip is geared towards to 9/10 yo Boys and keeping them happy.

Day 1-** Lunch 1pm ESPN (Paying OOP) If ESPN is important to you for the sports aspect and keeping the kids entertained, by all means go and enjoy. Be aware that the food and atmosphere is likely no better than your local sports bar. A better choice for theming and fun may be Beaches and Cream. Their burgers are very good and the desserts are great. Those kids would probably love to share a Kitchen Sink!
**Dinner 805 pm Ohana Will go to MK after Lunch for a little while. Then might go back after dinner and fireworks for EMH. Or may just go back to the resort. Love 'Ohana!

Day 2- **Breakfast snack credits or snacks from the room Then a couple of hours of swimming If you have park hoppers, we love going into France for breakfast at Les Halles. It's a quick trip in and out.
**Lunch- Maybe boardwalk Pizza Window? After lunch head to MK for about 3 hours. Long enough to do our 3 FP's. The pizza is pretty stinkin' bad, IMHO. How about grabbing a bite at Boardwalk Bakery? We enjoy their sandwiches. We also really like Boardwalk To Go, a kiosk near the pizza place. It serves fried macaroni bites (!!!) and a very good pulled pork sandwich.
I think you have the right attitude about this dinner. It wouldn't be my choice or recommendation, but if it makes a kid happy then that is just fine.

My boys love the German CS, especially the pretzels and bratwurst.
**Dinner- 850 California Grill. We will do a combination of Credits and Paying out of Pocket here. My favorite place on property!

How about Ale and Compass Lounge if ESPN is packed?

Day 5-** Breakfast- in Room or Snacks from board walk Bakery the Rope Drop Animal Kingdom we end up at Boardwalk Bakery or Les Halles just about every morning when we are staying in that area. Both are so good!
** Lunch- QS somewhere either in Animal Kingdom or maybe at the Pool at the hotel as we will head back around lunch time for a break and pool time. Try Satuli Canteen before leaving AK if your schedule allows. It is a great way to spend CS credits and a tasty meal at that!
** Dinner- 7pm Flying Fish- This will be all out of pocket. Want to use the time this night to really enjoy the street preformers and night time at the Boardwalk and maybe pop in Abracadabra Bar (sp) if it appears kid friendly enough. We love the outside area at Abracadabar, it is so beautiful, watching the boats and people on the Boardwalk

Day 7- We will head home early so will use any remaining QS credits for breakfast and the rest of our snack credits for junk for the boys for the 12 hour drive home!! I haven't counted your credits, but if you should end up with enough--Cape May Cafe character breakfast is a fun way to end your trip. Also, Wolfgang Puck Express serves an absolutely fantastic breakfast if you need to use QS credits. Still have some left? Pop over to Earl of Sandwich after breakfast and pack your lunch for the car trip.

With all of the signatures you are doing, it is a surprise that the DXDP doesn't work in your favor. It's always good to do the math, isn't it?

Have a great trip!

I was thinking the same thing. The meals look good, but I also was surprised with signature dining the Dx DDP was not cost effective.

Espn will for sure be important for all 3 boys to eat there at least one time.

If you have park hoppers, we love going into France for breakfast at Les Halles. It's a quick trip in and out.
That is a great idea and I can get behind going into Epcot anytime possible. May be something we do some other days for lunch as well.

Good idea I like the menu there. We may also wind up at downtown Disney. The most important thing will be a TV so we can watch the game.

We started our trip last year with Cape May breakfast and loved it. We usually don't book anything for our depature day because we typically get on the road pretty early and hate to be stuck waiting around on something.

I was thinking the same thing. The meals look good, but I also was surprised with signature dining the Dx DDP was not cost effective.
It was going to be 890 to upgrade to DxDP. I had figured 600 in tips and booze with my orginial plan of dining. Once I added in the extra meals I wanted it was closer to 900. If we did DxDP we would have the 890 upgrade cost plus 600 in tips and extra booze. So just made more sense to add in only what I wanted and some days we may share some meals and wind up with extra credits to cover more of the other meals. My husband and I share most all of our meals when eatting out at home. I don't have a huge appetite. Like at California Grill I will just order a couple of sushi rolls and share some of them with my son but can make a meal out of what everyeone else don't want. At Flying fish we may get a couple of appetizers and just share an Entree. I would defintely consider doing the DxDP again if it made sense but we did waste a lot of food. I usually took 2 bites of an appetizer and maybe ate half of my entree and 2 bites of dessert. We had family the last trip in a room without it and wound up paying for most of their food because I was better off sharing or just picking off everyone elses plates. Our son gets the adult plan this time since he is 10 but some places will prefer a kids meal so I will just buy those out of pocket and can bank some of his credits for DH and I.

Since you have parkhoppers, I would go into EPCOT for your QS lunches. As much as I love Boardwalk and it has great Signature restaurants, other than the bakery, there is not much of a good QS option.

Yes I think we will defintey do that. Especially since food and wine will be going on I think I would like any excuse to go to epcot. The only problem may be pulling the kids away from the pool some days.
