How do I quote multiple postings?

I've been here on the Dis for a number of years... but I still don't know how to do that! I can copy and paste in my post, but that doesn't show who made the original comment.

Right next to the QUOTE button, there's a button that has quotation marks and a plus sign.. if you click that for each post you want to quote, then hit reply, all the posts you want to quote will show up in your reply box.

That's a lot easier than I thought. I would just copy and paste each quote into the reply box from other windows. Much simpler this way.

glad someone else asked. now I have a question- how do you just use part of someone else's quote?

Delete the part you don't want, making sure you keep the brackets at the beginning and end of the quote.

It's too bad that this forum doesn't (easily) allow for nested quotes. Too often, people end up arguing over their perception of what was previously posted, rather what was actually posted. Nested quotes cut down on this because history is carried forward.
