To get to the right side on the top of Tom Sawyers Island you need to go to the monorail and exit at the Frontierland stop.

To get on the right side of the island you need to take the monorail to the Frontierland stop. There are many monorail entrances, the easiest for me to explain is to use the monorail teleporter in the Tomorrowland Hub.

To get on the left side of the island you need to go through the Big Thunder Mountain maze. These directions will guide you:

To get to Injun Joe's cave, go into Big Thunder Mt room. Go into middle mine door (on lower level). You will come out of the right mine door (one level up) in the same room. Now, turn around and go back into the door you just came out of. Presto, you are in the top right doorway of Injun Joe's cave!
Go to the waterfall (look for QUEUE) and slide down. You are now in Big Thunder Mt. Mine, top level, middle entrance. Go to the right and Exit. You will end up in the same room, on the middle level, right side. Turn around and go out the entrance you just came in. Now you are in one of the places where you can answer the constant question, "Hey, how did you get up there?"
To get to the top left of Tom Sawyer's Island, get to the top level of Big Thunder Mt (see previous post) and go into the shack.
You will be at the top of the slide in the Big Thunder Mt Mine. Slide down to the lower level and exit on the left side.
And there you are! You are across the river from folks who took the monorail.

Oh my! The memories!!!

Anyone else, on the first weekend of the quest (who did not know how to get up to the top of Toms sawyer island) search and seach the Mark Twain for the enterance??? I forget who I was with... (justlinktink maybe??) and neither of us knew, and of course (like the above poster) we had no idea that when we asked people how to get up there.... they all ever so nicely replied Mark Twain...

FYI Shadow.... mark twain will be an answer to the question they ask you once your on top fo Tom sawyers island.

Is this the only way to get here? The monorail can take so long sometimes and during a quest when time counts it really eats up that time. Any suggestions secrets hint would be much appreciated.

That is the quickest way.

But to get around the quest time limits, just do the quest up to and including the task BEFORE the one where you need to be at the top of Tom Sawyer's Island. Now, DO NOT click on the "Next Task" button -- the quest will be paused. Get to Tom Sawyer's Island at your leisure, and THEN when you're there, or almost there, click on the "Next Task" button.

The quickest way is to get on the Monorail one stop before Frontierland which is Adventureland. You need to go to the Forbidden Temple and exit through the skull.
