We're taking the scenic route to DisneyWrold from Philadelphia.....BUT....what about when we get there? How do I get from the Orlando Amtrak station to my Disney Resort? Shuttles? Taxis?...

I had a friend use www.sunraytransportation.com to get from the train station to his WDW hotel this September. Said it was nice and he'd use them again. Course, they're my fav, too! HTH!

Cheers!

You have several options:
Reserve a towncar.
Take a cab.
Rent a car.
Shuttle. Amtrak contracts with a shuttle service. There will be an Amtrak employee organizing the transportation. It cost me $20 to get to the BWV, which is hard to beat! :goodvibes

Keep in mind that the train is often running behind--sometimes many hours behind.

It's closer to get off in Kissimmee, and the train station there is in a better area as well, especially if you get in late at night.

There are usually cabs lined up outside, or you could arrange a car service.

I really wanted to do that and the kids said no, let me know how it works

Have you read some of the horror stories of that route? They are so true....

They can get 10-12 hours behind schedule (especially from Philly) and on some segments the seats are overbooked and people have had to stand part of the way.....

A friend of ours came from Orlando to DC last year and the train passed through here 6 hours later than it was supposed to....

We come from the north but always get off at the Kissimmee station. We have the station master call us a cab if one is not readily there, fares average around 38.00 one way. Whether train arrives on time or late the cab fare is the same.
Last trip, October, got stuck in the shut down of Amtrak due to hurricane Wilma. After 10 nights at the Poly, we switched to Pop Century to ride out the storm and resurrection of Amtrak. We ended up staying an additional 3 nights, Kissimmee station to all south Florida was closed to Amtrak and we had to reschudle our return tickets and board at the Orlando Train station. Cab fare from Pop Century to Orlando Amtrak station was 68.00. Big difference where you get off of train in cab fare. Seems trip to Orlando was over an hour on freeways and Kissimmee to WDW is about 30 minutes and seems quick. Hope this helps!
