I keep hearing about pin codes, how do I go about getting one? We are going to WDW March 27-April 1, don't know if that matters

Thanks in advance:woohoo:

The best way folks know to get on the mysterious list is to sign up for the planning DVD at Disney.com. Be sure and check the box that says "receive emails about promos" (or something to that affect). There is no rhyme or reason to the sending of PIN codes, but at least this way, you are on Disney's mailing list.

oh, and welcome to the Dis!!!

I received mine a week or two after pricing out some trips on the disney website and saving my price quotes. I have to wonder if that generated a code and Disney knew I was looking to book for the Spring. It was my first pin code.

I would absolutely love to know how because I have never missed a yearly trip in over 25 years and I have never gotten a pin code. I have signed up for every list, requested more than my share of planning DVD's, registered for the sweepstakes and priced out and saved vacations. I have tried using different email addresses also. You name it and I have tried it so unless it's because we always have a trip booked I don't know why we have not received anything.
I honestly think it's because as soon as one trip is finished I book the next year's and Disney feels "there's no need to offer them a discount they are going to go anyway". I could be totally wrong but I really do think it has something to do with it.

I had never gotten a pin code until this week, and I've gotten the same one at three different e-mail addresses. I did not get one at my usual e-mail address. One thing I did was set up seperate accounts for every e-mail I and my wife have. The three that got pin codes had trips "saved" in those profiles, while my main e-mail has our November trip already booked.

Coincidence?

I believe you hit the nail on the head with that one! :rotfl:

At least you know to watch for great deals to come out, and never pay rack rate. ;)

Yes, I do watch for the "deals" for the general public. We did take advantage of the 4/3 this past June and I'm sure hoping Disney offers it again for our dates!!!

I am on every mailing list, have ordered maps and DVD's, have a Disney Visa and have NEVER received a PIN code. Reading about all these is driving me crazy...I WANT A CODE!

We are going in April and I really would like to stay in a Deluxe but need the 40% off to do it.

When I hear people received 3 at 3 addresses it makes me cry.. (for me - I'm happy for the peeps that received them :thumbsup2)

Hey thanks everyone for responding. How long does it usually take to get those planning DVDs? I requested one about a month or so ago when I started to look around and price our stay. Still no DVD. Any suggestions?

I have recently received my 3rd pin in a year, yet we've been going to Disney since 2004, go figure!!:confused3 Anyway, just want to say that there will probably be a public discount for the summer for those with no PIN. With the bad economy they're bound to release a lure for all at some point!!:wizard:
We weren't going until I got this pin, now we're planning a trip in June.
After our trip in March I received a couple of surveys on our vacation, very detailed surveys, then the pins started coming. So look out for the post vacation surveys in your emails!
I've also ordered multiple vacation planning DVD's, and have a Disney visa.

I got my first pin yesterday and was able to move my February vacation with the 4/3 to end of April(with 35% off room rate), when we wanted. The price was $100 more then we were paying for a deluxe 7day stay and added water park and more tickets plus an extra day. We had to change to CSR but they was fine because my husband loves this resort since we went this past May for the first time. I have no idea how I got a pin. I have ordered the planning video and I do go and plan trips to see what the prices will be specially when I first heard the 4/3 deal may come our again. I also order from disney outlet and I have a disney visa. I know some people have never gotten one for years. I also use a disney approved TA for Disney travel. I guess it really is the luck of the draw....

I think how to get a PIN code is the question of the ages! My family went in March, and we took my daughter's boyfriend. We stayed on property so his name was included in the reservation but he did not make the reservation and paid for nothing. My daughter, her two sons and I went in August and again stayed on property. I paid for everything. Guess who got a pin code in the mail last night? Yep, the boyfriend. Go figure!! -- (For those of you that are Fla residents, the pin code was for deals during selected dates through June. )

I just called this morning and asked if thee was a pin attached to my name. And the cm on the other end, said that she would check. When she came on the phone, she said that I had one and applied it to my reservation for this December 24-30. So we upgrade from a value to mod and dxdp.:woohoo: It worked for me just by calling. Hope you can all take advantage of this also. Good Luck all!

I've only gotten one PIN code back in Sept for 30% off a Mod and 2 free MNSSHP tix. I go every 4-5 months to WDW so I guess they think "she's a sure bet, so why give her discounts if she comes 3 times a year?"

Now, my mom on the other hand get's emails and mailers all the time but hardly goes to WDW, the stays are always in my name, not hers. She just got one Monday that was AMAZING! We ended up using it to book my wedding stay in June, she'll be with me so it worked out perfectly!

We've been to Disneyland 1-3 times per year for the last 5 years. Never received any PINs. Now I have 2 trips to WDW planned and booked on property for both December 2009 and March 2010, so we don't have any intention of doing Disneyland in 2010.

I've been hoping for a WDW PIN, but in the past month I've received Disneyland (not WDW!) PINs via both US mail and email. Nice to finally receive a PIN offer, but sure wish it was for WDW so I could use it!
