How do I find a local beauty pageant for my DD?

I know that my disboard must have at least a few pagaent parents on it. My DD6 would like to "be in a beauty pagaent." I'm NOT looking for one of those fancy high glitz things (toooooo expensive). I'm just looking or something local like the mall or something so she can try it out. How do I go about finding a pagaent like this? I've tried googling it, but haven't had any luck. Help me figure out where to find info.

Try the community board. I know I've seen a mom over there w/ a pageant competing dd in her sig.

The only pageant like pictures that I've seen in a sig, I think it's 3 pictures with the face blurred out, I believe her kids are into Irish line dancing, not pageantry.

I know the one you mean- this person posts less frequently and I think her kids have done a bit of acting too.

My son did Sunburst pageants when he was a baby/toddler. Here is the listing for local pageants, including Tennessee. Sunburst has been around a long time. The local and state level are not too crazy, but the national one is competitive and more like the stuff you see on Toddlers and Tiaras.

Looks like a list of various pageants in the greater TN area, with dates, and some have links and such.. but scroll through as there are both paid ads and the regular list of pageants and dates.

Go to any children's shops in town and ask them. The couple in my town, normally get brochures when there is going to be a local one. Or does your town have any kind of festivals? There might be one associated with that.

There used to be a lot of small pageants in your area (I'm from the Tri-cities). Listings used to be in the Public Service Announcements in the papers up there.

I also used Pageant Center to find the one I am entering my DD in at the beginning of April. We're currently in Knoxville but are going to North Carolina for this pageant. It's a "natural" pageant and not "glitz" or "semi-glitz". If you want more info, pm me. I don't know anything specifically about it but it sounded fun with the theme they're doing--Flower Power-retro wear.
