How do I change my avatar picture?

I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to change my avatar picture. I can't do it and it's bugging me! Can someone help me or offer any suggestions? I'm trying to upload a pic from my hard drive.

Is the picture a big file? *** they have a limited amount of space. Try uploading the picture to aphotobucket site and then get the url address and paste it at the bottom of the Avatar page x

The main thing is the size...you can upload a picture from your computer but you don't have to load it into Photobucket like you would if it's your signature.

Yes, you don't have to upload you picture in photobucket unless you would used it for signature. You can directly use a pic for avatar fro your computer but depends on the size.

Yuppers, thats what I did for my pic............

I did it! I used Photobucket and resized the picture. I wasn't able to use the Photobucket URL so I emailed the resized picture to myself, saved it on my hard drive and was able to use that picture for my avatar.

I don't feel like such a tech dummy anymore! Thanks for the help!
