How do games on the kindle work??

I bought my mom a kindle for christmas, and I have never used one. When I go on the amazon website to buy games it says saomething about wireless. Do you plug the kindle into the computer?? I bought the kindle 3g. Or do I go onto amazon.com on the kindle and buy it?

Sorry for the stupid question. I just want to be able to tell her how to use it!

my son has the kindle --if you bought the one with wireless and you go to a place like that has wireless internet (mcdonalds, the books stores, a certain spot in my house that picks up my neighbors wireless - then you can download to the Kindle. what i usually do is shop on my computer at amazon for the books and then there is a button you push that says deliver to your kindle. Once my son is somewhere where there is a wireless internet his books will appear on his Kindle. Sometimes i just plug the kindle into my computer and transfer them that way -- very easy!! if my mother buys a book for him and she lives in another state she will push the deliver to kindle button and it will come to his kindle. You can also download library books for 20 days. - I am sorry if this isnt clear - still need a cup of coffee

LOL -- you asked about games - not books!! well my son has downloaded the scrabble game - he usually plays against the computer - i am sure if you were in a wireless internet area you can contect with others to play. i will have to look tonight and check it out - i have the nook and havent tried playing games with others - most of the time i am reading or will indulge in a little angry bird playing

Thanks Jennifer! I am pretty sure the games would work the same way as getting the books! We have wireless in the house so we could do that!
And by the way, my name is Jennifer and I know exactly how you feel without coffee!!!! I am on my second cup and still feel like I haven't had any!

I buy almost everything on the Kindle website (I prefer to surf and look at books, apps, whatever on my computer).

Then I just go into my settings on the Kindle and turn on the Wireless (3G) and then choose sync and all the books/apps are downloaded to my Kindle.

You can do it straight from the Kindle, but I've only done that a couple times when I knew exactly what book I wanted.

You need wireless (or a cable) to download books, games, etc to the kindle. You can shop on your computer (and use a cable or wireless) or from your kindle (wireless).

Once the items are downloaded, you can read and play without wireless (which is what I think you are asking about).
