Hi Ladies,

Please excuse my lack of knowledge regarding how DIY specifically labels work.
DH & I are having an at home vr, but immediately flying to WDW and we will have "guests" joining us. I am planning on doing welcome bags, but have a few questions regarding DIY items I would love to make.

question #1
water bottle labels. I understand you request a design from a specific dissigner. But how are these printed. Would I need to buy a type of stock that is self adhesive & print on that? Or do you all just print on stock paper & glue the labels on your own water bottles?

#2 door hangers do you pretty much do these like luggage tags? ( I have done those)

#3 tissue wrappers?

#4 do I need a particular type of printer?

#5 (I've asked this on another thread so please forgive me but..) invitations. I have designed mine, but not sure, do I download it onto a zipdrive or usb then bring that to a local printer? btw, I used microsoft windows to do my invite.

I love so many of the DIY projects, I'm just not sure I can pull this off. Thanks to any of you who can help this over the hill "rebride".

Hey there,

I think I can help you with a few of these.

1. Water bottle labels - I am not doing these myself, but having Impressions do it for me because I don't want to carry water to Florida. But, I did a google search for "water bottles personalized wedding" and a lot of sites came up. Maybe one of those sites might have something you like. They seem to have a lot of choices.

2. Door hangers - This is how I did mine (or in the process of ). I got almost all of my stuff at Michaels or AC Moore. I found packs of white cardstock (I went with 5.5 x 7.5). Then I bought pink that 8 x 11 and silver cardstock that was 12 x 12. I formatted the MS word page for right size of the white cardstock. Found the Disney clipart I wanted to use and added and sized my text. Printed them out. Attached them to the cut pink stock (I think I have a quarter of an inch all the way around) and then the pink to the silver (again with a quarter of an inch on each side). To cut the card stock, I purchased a scrapbook paper trimmer. Paul actually cuts the cardstock for me, since he is much better at that kind of stuff than I am. (I hope this makes sense)

3. For the Tears of Joy, here is the link to the site I used.

I bought the envelopes on ebay, travel size tissue packs at Target and the ribbon at Michaels. For the labels, I bought Print to the edge oval labels, downloaded the template and set it up how I wanted it and printed. Then I followed the website instructions. They were really easy.

4. I have a Canon that I love, but I think as long as you have a good printer, you should be fine.

5. Not sure on the invites, but I would call or go to whoever is going to print them and see what they suggest.

Good luck! Can't wait to everything you come up with!

Thanks Bethie. I think I will need to recruit my eldest children to help with this stuff. One would never know I worked with computers for 23 years. Yikes! I can't believe I am old enough to have worked 1 job 23 years!! :surfweb: My computer work was more corporate. After working on a computer all day, I had no desire to work on one at home. I have printed on transfer paper and made shirts, I've done bookmarks, luggage tags, but never detailed stuff. I'm sure my "kids" will help me out. Thanks for all the info. I would be embarrassed to post pictures of my stuff. Well....then again if my kiddos help out. ....

I have seen water bottle labels at Michael's in the wedding section. They may have an outline. If you buy those, you go to a website and download a Word template and can design from there and print at home.

I'm planning on printing my invitations at home myself. I bought paper from Michael's as well.

Thanks. We have a Michaels a couple times over.

cute....shocking. hahaha

I printed the luggage tags. They were easy enough. I am going to try to get to Michaels and AC Moore this weekend, we'll see.

Thanks to everyone for the help. I'm hoping DH is better at this than I am.
