We are trying to figure out how to tell DD4 we are going to eat lunch at Cinderella's castle (we have ADRs).

The idea is to make her think Cinderella has invited her (and DS2 even though he could care less).

We came up with several "plans" but nothing really hits the mark.

1) Grab a CM on the side and ask him / her to come and tell the kids that Cinderella heard they are at Disney and want to invite them for lunch at the castle.
I like this idea but I don't want if the CM's are allowed to do this or even if it's fair for me to aske them.

2) Tell DD4 to write a letter to Cinderella and then have a formal invitation from Cinderella come in the mail.*

What do you think?
Any better ideas?
How did you tell your kids?

I sent a letter to DD in the mail inviting her to breakfast at Cinderella's castle.

I wouldn't rely on a cast member, it seems to me kind of unfair to ask them to do something like that. Its nice when they can do something special, but don't depend on them being able to do it, then have your moment ruined when they can't or won't.

I think a glittery formal invitation would be awesome. Maybe it could be waiting on her pillow the night before. It would also be a fun keepsake.

We had a fairy godmailer send a postcard from Mickey to our DD5 telling her he knew how much she loved cinderella and set up for her to have dinner with cinderella in her castle. My daughter thought it was soo great getting mail and thought it was so nice of mickey to do this for her. She has told everyone about it!!! Either way it will be great!!!

When we took out niece for the first time at age 6 Cinderella sent her a letter saying that she heard about our visit and inviting her to breakfast in the castle. She was SOOOOOO excited!!!!!

I told them "When we go to Disney I have a reservation for us to eat at the Castle."

I waited until we were there. We walked into the castle because she wanted to look at the tiles. I planned our morning to work out to us being there at the right time. As she was looking at the tiles, I got down to her and asked if she would like to eat upstairs in the Castle...her mouth fell open and then she smiled real big and said yes. It was a great moment!

Hi Big Red,

When are you taking your trip to Disney? I'll be there mid Oct and if your trip is after that, I'd be happy to pick up a Cinderella or Castle postcard and have Cinderella sign the postcard and have it mailed to your daughter (my daughter is almost 6 and loves to get mail in her name). We'll be doing the breakfast the morning of her birthday so it would be no trouble to have her sign it.

If you are interested, send me a PM.

We will be eating at the castle on our last day at WDW and I am going to totally surprise DD (11).

I bought some small tiaras from teh Wedding section of my local store. I'm going to wrap them in pink and purple tissue paper and put in a box (two - one for the "princess' and one for the 'Queen' (me!)). After DD goes to sleep, I'll lay them on the table with a letter from Cinderella inviting her to come to breakfast the next day.

We've set the stage for this by telling her about it and telling her that a CRT B'fast ADR is SUPERHARD to get, so she's not expecting it at all! I can't wait to see what she does!

No matter how you tell your DD, she will love it. Way to go, Dad!
