How did you do it??? I want to do it!!!

OK, so for those of you that see the Magic Kingdom open you know there is one lucky family that gets to help welcome everyone to the Magic Kingdom!
I know you need to be there extra early.......but HOW did you get there?????
If transportation is not running, what did you do? Especially from TTC.

We got there at ~7:30 a.m for our 8:00 a.m breakfast seating in the castle. Park opening that day was 9:00. We rode a bus from POR (special buses run in the a.m. for early character meal seatings). It was my twin DD's birthday that day, and I had made them shirts that said "It's my birthday!" on them (and an "un-birthday" shirt for their little sister). My DH's ticket wouldn't work as we entered the MK, and a CM came over to help us. She took one look at my DD's and said "I have a special birthday surprise for you!" That is how we got picked to open the MK. It was the most magical thing that has ever happened to us, and the best birthday for my twins! The CM even re-arranged our seating time for breakfast in the castle. We just headed over there when we were done getting pictures with Mickey, Minnie, and the Mayor, and we were seated immediately.

some people rent cars while they're on vacation and some people drive to FL and stay in the resorts....so some of them probably drove themselves.

Not been picked to open MK ( ) but did get picked to open Epcot last year. We got there about 30 mins before park opened and joined the queue and a CM came and asked how many in our party and then asked if we would like to be 'family of the day'. Wow it was a magical experience one I will never forget.

Please tell me about opening the other parks (epcot) I have never seen a family help with that. What did you get to do??

While waiting for Electric Light Parade on Main Street, my wife started talking to a CM (we enjoy talking to CM's about their jobs and working for Disney, etc.). After a few minutes, the CM said if we would like to open the MK tomorrow morning, the CM said he would check with his manager and would leave us a message at our hotel. I was skeptical but sure enough the magic happened. Great being in the park by ourselves. They drove us back to
Toon Town to get on the train and we met and got pictures with 20 characters.
