well there were a couple of storms that developed in the Atlantic that didn't come anywhere near us (thank god, I can't go 2 weeks with no power ever ever again) and a storm in the pacific

Joesphine stuttered in the atlantic
Kyle went up the E. seaboard and hit Canada
Laura hung out in the Atlantic
Marco was a tropical storm and hit mexico
Nana was off the coast of S. America
which brings us to Omar

I looked up the named storms since Ike and found the following:

1- Tropical storm Josephine, 9/2- 9/6: far East Atlantic. No landfall.

2- Hurricane Kyle, 9/25- 9/28: Advisories for Bermuda, New England, and Eastern Canada coast.

3- Sub-tropical storm Laura, 9/29- 10/1: Far North Atlantic, near Newfoundland. No landfall.

4- Tropical storm Marco, 10/6- 10/8: Advisories for central Mexico.

5- Tropical storm Nana, 10/12- 10/14: Eastern Atlantic. No landfall.

I was wondering the same thing yesterday. I was like "WHO'S OMAR?!?" (And, more importantly, WHERE is he going?)

my parents keep the weather channel on because they like the music!!!

We are going on a cruise on Sunday to San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Martin ... luckily we are not there this week!!

No music on ours.. But they show the local weather every 8 minutes - and I do mean "show" - so I don't have to listen.. LOL

But gosh darn it - if I could miss that many storms, I'm thinking maybe I should be listening.. (Although I will confess that I have it on right now - on mute.. )
