How did the Biggest Loser end?

I missed the second hour of the Biggest Loser last night, and the NBC website hasn't been updated. Who won? And who won the consolation $100,000? Did 2nd and 3rd place get anything?

Matt won the $250,000 -- he had something like a 46.3% weight loss.

Pete won the $100,000 -- with a 46.13% weight loss. He won by 1 pound, literally. The one other guy (sorry, I forgot his name) had a 46.09% weight loss.

2nd did end up getting $50,000 and 3rd got $25,000 -- it was announced as a surprise right before the top 3 weighed in. :)

So technically, PETE was the BIGGEST LOSER....it stinks how the game is set up, that the TRUE Biggest Loser does not win.

I did not watch the series, but watched the 1st hour last night, to see the before and after....PETE!!!!! HOLY COW...what an inspiration he must be to other his size that might think it is a losing battle. What an amazing transformation!

Not based on total % of weight loss -- Matt was slightly higher in that respect (46.3% vs. 46.1%).

Disappointingly--I did not want Matt to win after his strategic weight gain bit and how he mentioned that in wrestling he was accustomed to doing what he needed to at any given time to reach a certain weight. Just rubbed me the wrong way.

But kudo's to everyone for their success.

I felt bad for the one girl who came out with the sour look on her face and the audience was clapping until she looked mad and then they just stopped.

Actually, I think Matt was ony 42 or 43%. My DH and I noticed that and said that Pete lost a higher percentage. I could be wrong though. ??
Seth got 50,000 and Suzy got $25,000. Seth beat Suzy by like a pound! She was down to 132 I think. They all looked great!
I love this show. Had to record AR as they overlapped!

I had taped the show for my DW because she was working late and we went back and watched the tape a second time to double check. Matt's % was 46.31%. Pete lost the most overall weight (185 pounds), but Matt just barely edged him out in %.

I liked the way they determined the winner last year better -- a combination of % weight loss combined with total % of body fat lost. I wonder why they didn't do that this year? I doubt it would have made any difference, but I still liked that calculation better.

Thanks, probably time for new contacts for me! :)

I think the calculation was better last year too. I still think men have an advantage over women with body fat loss. Plus women can have more monthly fluctuations. ;) I weigh everyday and I know I do! :smooth:

I think it was Kathryn that lost 16 during the show and was still at that on the finale last night! And one guy chose not to return last night. Wonder what was up with that!?

Yeah, I wondered about that. I figured if anyone wouldn't come back, it would have been Ruben (remember his "follow up" video after he was booted?) -- but he came back and actually looked awesome!!

The show he was voted off of--his follow up interview..he pretty much hated the experience and didn't give any weight updates or anything. The fact that he allowed the cameras to follow him home was impressive with the statements he made. I was not surprised when he opted to not do the reunion at all.

No one from last season left with ill feelings.

The lady last night who was the 2nd to be weighed--her follow up interview...she was trying to work on her weight--but she was so busy. As depressed as she was last night...I'm surprised she came back as she didn't look happy to be there at all.

I don't remember the guy who was not there. Think I will go look him up.

Andrea looked so much better last night! Her face was less harsh looking with the weightloss, much softer appearance. I think the weight really distorted her face/eyebrows?

Ahh, maybe I mixed up Ruben with Nick -- that's the follow up I remember, but I thought it was Ruben's, not Nick's.

Was Nick the one who said he did not want to weigh himself anymore?

I think I confused Seth and Matt's %'s. I think it was Seth that lost the 42% or so? Then I said "Pete beat him" to DH. Guess it is a new brain, not contacts, that I need! :p I wish they would update the site!!

I wonder what the new Biggest Loser in Jan will be like. Looks like groups and families?

yeah, I'm sure Nick put NOTHING into losing weight.

And, sadly, when Kathryn came out I said 'who the heck are you?" she did look miserable though.

Ryan and Suzanne looked AWESOME! Suzy almost looks like she's lost a bit too much weight.

Pete beat Dr. Jeff by 1lb. Pete looked amazing...and I realize he had the most to lose...but Dr. Jeff just blew me away. Seeing him, as a doctor, let him self get that way...and then totally turn his life around...amazing.

Funny...I was watchign Access Hollywood before this came on...and one of the guy anchors was going through "what was on" TV that night...and he says "And tonight, The biggest loser finale...whenever I need a good man-cry, I watch that."

heheh..man-cry.

I did have tears in my eyes...last night totally proved that diet, exercise, and determination pay off in the end. AMAZING

I have really enjoyed follwing this show, as it was quite inspirational and I truly admire each and every one for their dedication and hard work. To me, Dr. Jeff and Pete represented the best of the best and seem to touch a lot of people in many ways. Even tho Matt has been a total jerk thru out, in the end, he seem to find himself and that he does have a heart.

I do wonder - what happens to their saggy skin after losing 100+lbs???

There are plastic surgery procedures available where they literally cut out pieces of the skin and sew the rest back together.

Yeah, but did you see Seth's pictures? In the before pic he had stretchmarks the size of Miami and in the after he had a sixpack with no stretchmarks or sagging skin. :confused3

Yeah, I thought that was a little odd. I guess everyone's skin has a certain amount of elasticity and his bounced back better than others, because I saw some major saggy skin on some of the others. Maybe because he's a young guy?

When Seth pulled up his shirt, he did have a six-pack but he also had some sagging skin below it.

I wasn't surprised that Nick was a no-show. You knew he hated it when they aired his follow-up. You could tell that Kathryn did not want to be there but kudos to her for showing up.

I thought that Mark the cop was the one who came within one pound of Pete? Dr. Jeff wasn't that close but he did an amazing job.

I really like Matt and was very happy that he won. Not only did he get his weight under control, he stopped drinking. Good for him!!
