How did Paul Bettany get the role of Vision in The Avengers movies?

Right now I am starting to have a new Marvel crush and that is Vision from The Avengers who is played by Paul Bettany and I want to know how he got cast as Vision? From what Youtube videos I've seen of Paul Bettany he is cute and reminded me of David Hyde Pierce from Frasier but when Paul is Vision he is even cuter

Well, first he was cast as JARVIS in the Iron Man movies, Tony's A.I. assistant. Because they used JARVIS to create Vision, it made sense he would have the same voice and thus use the same actor. He does have a great voice!

Interesting factoid, Paul Bettany’s wife Jennifer Connelly voiced the AI for Spider-Man’s suit in the first Tom Holland Spider-Man movie.

Don’t think it was Iron Man 3 but after Infinity Wars since Vision was killed and his contract was up but Feige proposed doing WandaVision to him and Lizzie.

So Vision and Jarvis are the same person and when I saw that Vision was related to Iron Man I nearly squealed with delight because it was shocking that Vision/Jarvis is the butler to Mom's crush Iron Man. Another thing I cannot figure out that has haunted ever since I ordered my Vision plushie is he actually purple or orchid colored because on several pictures and the lone picture I have Vision looks pink?

Yeah, the JARVIS AI was used to create Vision, though he is more than jsut that. They used the same voice. The JARVIS AI is based on Howard Stark's butler (as seen in Agent Carter) who was around when Tony was younger.

The Vision is traditionally bright red, but in the movies they toned the color down to a darker red.

Oh, so Vision is actually red colored. That's a surprise because my mom always thinks he looks pink. Vision also reminds of the character Seth from Street Fighter and I wonder if that's where Marvel copied him from. But I think Paul Bettany does an awesome job playing Vision so well

The Vision in Marvel Comics first appeared in 1968, so that greatly predates Street Fighter and actually video games in general. They did change the look for the movies a little, but it's still basically the same.

My mom gets a kick out of my mega crush on Paul Bettany and Vision and every morning when I watch Youtube videos with Vision or Paul Bettany my mom gets shocked and surprised because he really is my sweetheart. Another thing that Vision has done to me since he became my Marvel crush is regain my love of pasta ever since I learned that Paul Bettany loves spaghetti and ever since I saw the video of Paul talking about spaghetti I ate it again and in fact when we eat pasta I have begun to call it Pasta a la Vision. I wonder if Vision cooks for Wanda in Wandavision and if Paul Bettany used some of his recipes to make Vision cook?

I saw some interview where he talked about meeting Jennifer Connelly and her disappointment that he didn't have a postsecondary education. Remember she attended Yale. He said something about her general belief that sophisticated British men were "Oxbridge" educated.

I am still in love with Paul Bettany and I do hope we see him do lots more Vision cartoons soon because Paul Bettany really makes Vision so cool. If there ever is another Vision cartoon I'd see it in a heartbeat

I would really enjoy a Vision spin-off movie with Paul Bettany and it would feature Vision's life when he isn't doing his hero duties and he would be a family man and also show off his cooking talents and it would be a smart hit if it were made. I think Vision is such a gentleman and very handsome and I can see why Paul Bettany was chosen to play Vision because Paul is not only talented he is so handsome and a gentleman too and they decided to put Paul's personality into Vision as well. I will say that if Vision existed in real life we would be the best of friends forever
