How did ER end?

Last night around 10:50 my dd started throwing up .
She seems a little better this morning. But I missed the last 10 minutes or so of ER. Can someone please tell me what happened? ( I did see that Sandy died).

Gallant went off to Iraq (pretty convienent deployment don't you say)

Neela sees him and she gives him a quick kiss send off

Sam comes home to see her ex husband/bf with her son.

Kerry goes over to pick up her and Sandy's baby from Sandy's brothers house. Sandy brother (Raul I think/) refuses to let her in, tell them that Henry is know thier baby.. (I think he said it came from her body!), and they are keeping him. She starts crying and they struggle a bit. Raul eventually closes the door on her. Kerry leaves alone

I thought when Sandy died they were setting up a custody battle. But I just find it hard to feel sorry for Weaver (she can be such a witch!)

Sandy died and Carrie went to tell the family .... afterwards Abby comforted her as she finally broke down. Gallant left to go to Texas and then Iraq......he and Nela (sp?) made their peace before he left and she told him he better come back and he told her to show them and become the best doctor she could be......
then Carrie went to pick up Henry from Sandy's family and they wouldn't let her in the house ...... they said it was "Sandy's Baby" not hers .........and the show ended with her pounding on the door.......... I had a bad feeling about that earlier in the show when I saw how Sandy's mom interacted w/ Carrie....... oh and Dr. Lewis has to go on bedrest until the end of her pregnancy.....
Sam came home from her shift and her son came running out saying guess who's here and his father was there ...... I think that covers it !

Lately Weaver has been softer, and kinder though. At the end of the episode, she was really upset that she couldn't get to her son.

Also after Sandy died, Lewis and Kerry were talking, and Kerry starts crying. Lewis then winds up holding Kerry as she is crying...

Honestly, what is going to happen with the show?

Carter is gone
Gallant is now gone
Lewis is gone

Are they going to make Abby a main character again?

Carter and Susan will be back. Gallant has a pilot on ABC I think but I am sure they will leave his fate open-ended.

It is sad that they let Sandy go. She and their baby were the only things that softened Weaver.

I think it was actually Abby that hugged Weaver as she broke down.

DH and I were watching last night and just before Sandy dies, I turned to him and said, "How much you wanna bet they are setting up a custody battle between Carrie and Sandy's family?"

Looks like I was right. Having a sister that is gay, I can honestly say that I hope they portray that story line with dignety, respect and realism. It is not going to be pretty to watch though!

I am the child of a gay man so to me this is an extremely important issue. Unfortunately I think it is going to turn off viewers because gay marriage/gay adoption has been very politicized lately. I think some viewers may interpret this as "liberal politics" and not a depiction of the human rights issue it really is

A roof collapsed and fell on her and two other fireman. One other fireman died (burned badly), Sandy, and the other fireman lived.

I believe Susan will be back also. She is pregnant in real life and I'll bet she's taking the time off to have her baby rather than work it into the script. (I didn't know until a week ago that she was really pregnant in real life - that's not always the case)
