Just curious since I never dined inside of Le Cellier. Since their are no windows is it very dark? What is the atmosphere like? How crowded is the seating?

If anyone with a lot of experience dining there could help me out it would be much appreciated. I would like to try it on our upcoming trip in October, but I want to make sure it will fit our family's expectations.

DS13 & I just ate lunch there a few wks ago. I didnt think it was crowded or dark. Breadsticks were yummy. They have a very nice birthday dessert too.

its cozy yet open with low lighting & candlebra like chandliers. le cellier is our favorite restaurant at wdw. its great for a romantic meal near the fireplace & the food is superb.

it's a little darker than some places but i could see fine. i think maybe cause the wood is dark maybe it seems darker than it is

I ate there solo this past May and had requested the first available seating for lunch. I had to wait just a few minutes until they opened and was the first one seated. It was cool and quiet, but I don't remember it as being particularly dark. Food was very good and the service was excellent.

A funny thing happened to me there though. Two ladies were seated next to me and as soon as they sat down, one looked at my table and said 'Oh that's those breadsticks they talk about'. She then proceeded to just reach over and pulled the end off my multigrain breadstick saying 'You don't mind do you honey, but I've just got to try this'. For goodness sake the waitress would be bringing theirs in just a few minutes with their waters, why did she have to take a piece of mine? For once in my life I was totally speechless and just couldn't believe what she had just done to a total stranger. I don't want even my own family touching my food. That's a good way to get stuck with a fork. Needless to say with her fingers touching it, I didn't get to even try the multigrain bread. I put my hand around my bowl of cheese soup, just in case she had any idea of dunking that piece of breadstick into it.

Dark can be a relative thing. When we went there last time, we thought it was really dark inside. But we had just been outside in the sun for a few hours so pretty much anything would have seemed dark. By the end of the meal, we didn't think it was as dark and thought it was fairly normal lighting.

She would have drawn back a nub. That's just rude. Sorry you had that bad experience, but I will be armed and ready when I visit in a couple of weeks.

Love your name, too. Is that how you spell it away from this DIStorted reality.

Thank you! Really it's my 8 y/o grandaughter's name and yes that's how her parents spelled it. Most people call her Audry, but she quickly corrects them telling them it's Aubriee 'A-u-b-r-i-e-e'. I hated the name when they first came up with it, but now it just fits her. She has an older cousin on her mom's side named Aleka, so her mom wanted a unusual name that started with an A. I just use it for a screen name.

I can't believe someone would reach over to your table and grab your food. That's pretty amazing! It's not like you were eating at Ohana where everyone in the restaurant is "Family".

I don't think the restaurant is dark at all -- not bright, but certainly not poorly-lit or dark. (San Angel is much darker.) However, I will say that the ladies' room was very, very dim! I recall trying to change my son's diaper in there and feeling like I needed a flashlight!

Ate there last week and thought it was dark. My video confirms the same. However, it is no darker then other nicer restaurants we've enjoyed. It's part of the charm.

I didn't find Le Celliar dark other than the wood and no windows Mexico was much darker yet the walls was lighter and you got the volcano there to brighten it up a bit makes a big difference.

Didn't feel crowed at Le Celliar either Italy was the worst for feeling crowded but that's another story.... tables way to close together and toddlers throwing baby bottles and food at me doesn't impress me in the least.

Food at the Celliar was among the best we had all week too tho I go again I won't order the cheese plate as an appetizer or dessert huge plate with very little food on it and I really didn't care for the cheese once I got it. Good thing we was on the free dinning cause if I'd paid for that cheese plate I'd have been PO'd big time.

It's about as well lit as Space Mountain :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Since the lights have been on is Space Mountain the past couple of times we have visited, there must be plenty of lighting in the restaurant. ;)

Le Cellier is in my opinion the best restaurant at disneyworld. I insist on eating there at least twice every trip.
