How crucial is early admission on a weekday during peak season?

Ok, so now I'm looking at my family of 4-5 (3-4 adults and 1 child) going the week after memorial day instead of the first week of August, due to work schedules. Since we will be using military tickets we don't get MM. With 3 day park hoppers, going on Tues-Thurs, is it realistic to think we can still get in a good touring schedule without getting in to the parks early? Crowd calendar on touringplans ranges these days from 6-8 our of 10, which I'm guessing is because many people will have gone home after the holiday weekend.

I ask because the homewood is only $129 on our nights, whereas PP is $245 a night WITH the military discount, and cramming all of us into a PP standard room for more money is going to be hard to justify to my mom, who is footing the bill. But I'm worried that hour is going to make a huge difference in how much riding we get to do.

My expectation is 1 day in DL, 1 day in CA, and 1 split day depending on favorites from the first 2 days. We can go rope-drop to park close (though grandma may need to head back to the room for a nap mid-day) and will do a single pass through each dark ride, probably not any shows or parades besides WOC (shedding a tear that fantasmic is closed), and will want to do multiple rides on star tours, space mtn, screamin', ToT, and BTMRR. I had a solid plan for WDW last year and it worked extremely well, but it was almost always built around EMH days.

You do not have to have EMH.
Just get there at rope drop and start at the park that does not have EMH. Use FP, and begin with rides that do not have FP and are slow loaders (like Toy Story in DCA or Nemo Subs in DL).

Considering the whole west side of the park is closed during that time, it's of very little importance to us. In fact we give it no weight in our decision making.

ETA - I would not consider the time you are going as "peak" season....especially now that they moved the fall Dapper Day to November.

Just start your day at the park that doesn't have EE. It really isn't that big of a deal.
Any savings you get with those military tickets would be eaten away with staying at the Paradise Pier hotel. I don't blame Mom for not wanting to foot the bill for that.

Wednesday mornings are better thanf MM mornings, so that is a big plus. also on "T" days, fronteirland and adventure land are never overwhelmed by the MMers once hte park opens. so that is a level playing field. Do FL and AL on Tuesday, Fantasly land on Wednesday, RSR on thursday . Makes for a great morning tirp!!

We have never taken advantage of EMH when we've had it. We've been on plenty of peak season trips and had a wonderful time. So IMO its not crucial at all.
