How Crowded is Jersey Week?

Has anyone been during Jersey week? Is it really that busy? Depending what site a check it gives conflicting information. Do they hold their convention at any of the Disney Resorts? :yay::yay:Thanks for any help

Teacher's convention in NJ is held in NJ, in ATlantic City. it is optional for teachers to attend, which is why most take their families to Disney instead. that is why it is called Jersey week. There is no convention at Disney.

The touring sites say that, while there will be a higher percentage of folks from Jersey than usual, the overall impact on crowds is negligible.

We had a brief visit that covered the Wednesday and Thursday of Jersey Week last year and the crowds both days were quite low. It likely got more crowded over the weekend (after we left), but there was also one of the Run Disney events then.

Jersey week is not terrible crowd-wise. As mentioned above, the NJ teachers' convention takes place in Atlantic City. I'm from NJ and regularly take advantage of the time off to get down to Florida. Here are some of the pros and cons:

Pros.
If you time it right and get down to WDW for the entire week, then you have the opportunity to see the parks change from Halloween to Christmas and perhaps catch both the Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Very Merry Christmas Party.

The weather is generally still warm enough to get some pool time.

Cons.
Epcot will be VERY crowded on the weekends. This particular weekend is generally the last weekend for Food & Wine and includes the Food & Wine 1/2 marathon. The confluence of events results in HEAVY crowds at Epcot.

If you need to fly from the NY/NJ area, costs to do so will be high.

Hopefully this helps.

You'll find a lot of people from Jersey but not a lot of people from anywhere else, so not huge crowds.

This. The last few years, the end of Jersey Week overlapped with the last weekend of F&W, Veteran's Day weekend, and the 1/2 marathon. Two years ago we went to Epcot and it was SWAMPED. Last year we avoided Epcot that whole weekend and it was perfect. Follow the recommended park schedule from someplace like EasyWDW and you'll be fine.

Agreeing with above posters re: Jersey week combined w/ the last weekend of F&W. We went during Jersey Week 2013 in order to enjoy F&W and MVMCP and during the week it was fine. The weekend OTOH it was incredibly crowded almost everywhere. Many people seemed to be in for the 1/2 marathon and the first MVMCP so when those factors combined, the crowds were large.

We had a great time during the week though and the weather was awesome!

We were there this past 10/31 (Th)-11/5 (Tu). I believe the actual "Jersey Week" holidays were Thursday and Friday after we left. As mentioned above, we avoided Epcot over the weekend (2nd to last weekend of F&W) and went on Sunday with no major issues. That Monday-Tuesday, the parks were great.
