How crowded is flag pole area for Tony's VIP parade seating?

I tried searching for info on the seating area that goes along with the dining package at Tony's, and all I could really find were reviews on how awful Tony's food is. So...let's assume for this question that I know Tony's is inedible and overpriced, and I don't care. LOL

My daughter will be dancing in the parade in December with the Dance the Magic program. I'd like to watch her from the best spot possible, so I'm trying to decide if paying for a bad lunch is a good way to do that or if they pack so many people into that flag pole area that I'd be just as well off somewhere else.

Anyone have experience using a dining package to get the flagpole location?

Or if you used a fast pass to sit there, was it a good view of the parade? I don't think they offer the fast pass for that spot anymore. Am I correct in thinking that?

Thanks for any info.

1. & 4. I'm going to assume that you are just using a figure of speech when you say "seating area" and "sit there."
There is no seating available. Guests either stand, or sit on the curb.
2. Watching near Hall of Presidents or deep in Frontierland, past Country Bears can be great spots.
3. The area is not "packed with guests." But, there are many other places to watch along the route.
But, the flagpole spot (Town Square) is a good spot if you want to view as the parade circles that area.
5. No parade FPs anymore.

Thanks, Robo! Yes...definitely just using "sit" as a figure of speech. Not moving for a few minutes counts as "sitting" in Disney, I guess. :)

I'm wondering if at that spot I'd be able to watch DD and her friends a bit longer as they go around the circle vs just watching from the side of the street elsewhere.

The flagpole spot (Town Square) is a good spot if you want to try to view as the parade circles that area. How easy that is depends on the number of other guests and exactly where they have chosen to grab a viewing spot.

Actually, this can be better in some ways. We did try a parade FP back before they eliminated them. Turns out, we had to get there rather early to secure a spot on the curb. They were scooped up fast. We can show up much later down in Frontierland and get a spot right on the rope. We typically hang out near one of the cross walks they create with the ropes so when they pull the cross walk closed we can move up right at the rope. You can do this 5, 10 min before the parade gets there.
