How crowded is Disneyland currently? Disneyland or character breakfast with toddlers?

Grew up in socal and went to Disneyland once or twice a year. Never seemed that busy but it's been about ten years since I've been. Considering going early December while visiting family with a 3yo and 7months. but worried if it's super crowded at their age it won't be fun just stressful. If we don't go to Disneyland we will have a character breakfast at grand Californian instead. Last year we went to Goody's kitchen and my daughter loves it.

Also we visit socal every year so we could always go next year.

What would you do?

I haven't been myself (we're currently planning our first trip to CA!) but I have been keeping an eye on the crowd calendars on Touring Plans and Ribbit Ribbit. They have the crowds at 8/10 most days this month and next. Seems to quiet down when school starts, as you imagine it would.

ETA: I completely missed 'early December' in your post! Apologies. Crowd calendars seems to think the first few weeks will be quiet, once the Thanksgiving rush is over. But I do think people are going more frequently these days to make up for the last two years.

Early December will be crowded because of the holiday offerings imo. Less than mid-December but still. Honestly reports make it seem like it's at least moderately crowded all the time now.

IMO, if you go in December the first week is the best choice. The crowds will increase as each day gets closer to the 24th - 1st. Will probably be even busier this year due to more entertainment/shows being offered. (Just a hunch, no intel.) I completely avoid the month of Dec, with the exception of a couple days. (I get my Dland xmas shopping in early, usually Nov)

Having done early December (last December trip was 2019), yep - it's crowded, and who knows if/when this current massive travel demand will ease up. Personally I would wait until next year when they open Toon Town back up.
