Hi

We just decided to go to DLR for May 9 and 10 - kind of a Mother's Day gift!
How busy is it on Tinkerbell weekend?
Any tips or tricks?
We just got new APs, (Premier actually!), so are not too worried about seeing and doing everything.....

Thanks!

If you can avoid driving to the parks on the morning of the marathon, I would highly recommend avoiding driving. I was there when the Avenger's Half Marathon was happening and it took over 30 minutes to get into the parking structure in the morning (after the race was over, but the crowds arleady in the area plus the guests arriving to go the parks made for long lines into the parking structure). I would also avoid driving to DTD on Saturday night if that could be avoided (again long lines to get in).

I second this. Even after the closed roads are reopened, there are still tons of runners and spectators crossing between the hotels and the parks outside of the usual morning rush to get to the parks at the opening for both Saturday and Sunday morning. Avoid Downtown Disney on Saturday afternoon/evening because it's going to be crazy between the Tomorrowland premiere and the runners who will be there to get their pre-race dinners.

However, the crowds inside the parks aren't more than any other weekend during a holiday/special weekend. So be prepared to leave your car at your hotel and walk/take a shuttle everywhere, but know that you'll still have a blast.
