How crazy is it to plan to do MK on a Sat. night in November?

Specifically Saturday the 6th. We have VERY low expectations of actually doing any rides that night. Basically we will be at MGM that morning then napping then heading to MK to walk around, enjoy the ambiance and have a quick bite. If we pass something that doesn't have too much of a line we may ride it, or we may not.

I'm one of those people who doesn't feel like I'm at WDW till I've set foot on Main St. so since this is our first day/night there it's where we will spend our evening.

Anyone with experience in the early November time frame? This is our first fall trip so I have no idea what to expect crowd-wise.

Thanks!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_8_7.gif' border=0></a>

We did early Nov in '01 if I remember correctly. It might be hard to compare crowds with when I went since it was shortly after 9/11. But, it wasn't too terribly bad. Now, when we go, we always try to avoid MK on Sat evenings like the plague. Too many locals.

for the F&W fest on Sat. night is not going to be a reality? LOL, darn! I had so hoped the F&W would lure the locals out of *MY* park for the evening.

Anyone else want to give me hope (even false hope? Please!?!) that MK won't be too terrible that night???

I can't give you hope but will hope with you. We were planning on MK that night to so we could see Spectromagic!

Add me to the list of people that will be there! I don't know if we will hit many rides but I am dying to see Spectromagic and Wishes.

We were there in early Nov 2001 also. The whole week had very manageable crowds. However - Saturday night at MK was a disaster. Everyone on property seemed to be there to watch the parade and fireworks. I'd never do it again.

But Fastpass was just beginning and not many attractins had it. It might be better now. You could at least grab one Fastpass as you enter the park, then amble around as you planned.

I been to mk 2 twice in Nov. and it is very busy. I won't do it again. I am going back this Nov. and avoiding Mk on a Saturday. I planning to do it on a Thursday.

We went last year on the first Sat in November. The MK was very crowded (much more so than during the week), but still manageable. Not nearly as crowded as holidays or summer months. Go and have fun!!!

DH & I will be there that night too!! It will be more crowded than weekday but if you're only going to see Spectro & Wishes, it shouldn't a big deal. Grab a snack find a spot to wait. Just soak up the atmosphere!!! We always go this time of year and really haven't been bothered by crowds. They usually only do these things on Sat., in the Fall, so it's worth it, IMHO!!

I always plan to avoid MK on Saturdays - but somehow, wind up there too often. We also feel the pull to be in MK our first day....
I say go for it with the knowledge that it will be busy.

Even if it's just to hang out for the heck of it. Probably will take the kids to Toontown and let them run about a bit, ride the train, eat dinner and so on. Oh yes, I forgot...I have to have my "I'm finally here" meltdown! The we can just walk about taking pictures and such. It will be great!!!

It will be crowded because of Spectro! But don't let that ruin your fun. Just be sure to plan your arrival time around the parade time(s). Main Street can get so congested prior to that first parade. But if you're not going for the Parade (especially the first one if there are two that night), and you get there prior to the Parade, you'll probably find a lot of the rides are not too crowded during the Parade. After Wishes and the first Spectro, you may even find you have the park to yourself.
