How crazy is Epcot on the 4th of July?

We just found out we will be in Orlando for my daughter’s dance nationals from June 28th - July 2nd next year. While I’d love to tack on a full week at Disney, my husband can’t get that much time off. So, I’m thinking MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th. How crazy can we expect it to be? Luckily, we’re Disney veterans and have been many times, so it’s ok if we can’t do everything - we’ll be happy just to be in our happy place and soak in the atmosphere!

It will be quite crowded the whole time you're there.
Many schools get out for summer the last week in June.
Plus holidays are gonna be extra busy...

Incredibly busy. The MK has extra fireworks that night as a "preview" of the ones they do on the 4th. Lots of people go for that reason. Epcot will certainly be very busy as well on the 4th.

I figured, but I’m ok with that. If we get in 2 rides and just enjoy the park, that’s fine. But I want to prepare the fam 😂😂

We'll be there that week too, staying at Riviera the 3rd and 4th, and are anticipating some heavy crowds for sure, but I mean, you can't NOT go to the American pavilion on the 4th of July, right? It only seems fitting to visit Epcot 😄

We have been to Epcot a couple of times on July 4th. It’s definitely busy but it’s a big park with lots of space. We do what you are planning (MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th). It’s a lot of fun. Fireworks tag at Epcot is seriously awesome.

This past year, I went to the parks for the week of Fourth of July. It was relatively crowded but I was able to get through what I wanted to do at the parks. I got to see the Fourth of July fireworks at both MK on the 3rd and EP on the 4th, which are totally worth it. While MK's fireworks crowd was relatively easy to navigate (mainly bc I was behind the castle by the carousel in Fantasyland), Epcot's was super crowded where you couldn't even move anywhere. But overall, I would say definitely see the Fourth of July fireworks because they were both amazing. :)
